Soothsayers have been predicting the demise of PC gaming for years now.
Developers are weary of releasing games on the PC platform, because piracy is rampant and the current technology in consoles is powerful enough to compete with their more expensive PC counterparts.
This makes the audience significantly larger. It is also a lot easier to develop for a standardized platform like the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 than it is to try and meet the almost limitless configurations of computers. However, not everyone has given up on the PC platform, and some of this last year's most popular titles have finally made the transition, to varying degrees of success.
