With Factor 5... Just another article that will be ignored by the masses because it doesnt back up their hate for Nintendo.

All those sales are from MS and Sony... This is all a lie..Nobody buys games on Ds or Wii.

thwarting progress worldwide. "Still in effect sir."

Some of the responses: "Well what percent is third party" "It is mostly first party software" Bottomline is, it doesn't matter. Also it should be noted that Ubisoft just today made a press statement regarding Shaun white's strong Wii sales, Guitar Hero WT is on its way to 3 million, so to all future fanboy posters "Save it" Just accept facts this time.

132,000,000 units of software is well over 9,000. Nearly half of all console software units sold on the Wii, while the other half did not. This news is rather swell indeed.

even if you look at individual game sales for the Wii, they punished PS3 and 360 all around. FFXIII and KZ2 better move units. The same goes for HaloWars.

Come on, this is so funny. Ds counts for over half of Nintendo software sales and they try to use the packaged game as sales for the wii. I mean it is obvious really who is selling software, Sony has 3 machines, Nintendo has 2 and Xbox has 1. Figure that math up.....

Voiceofreason3459d ago

Do math? When it is already done? My god you are dense... Wii and DS accounted for 49% of software last year. PS3,PS2 and PSP only accounted for 38%.. You tell people to do something the article does for them.. You just refuse to accept it because it shows Nintendo doing better than Sony and like any good FB facts mean nothing.

Actually, according to the article, Wii software sales accounted for more than half of Nintendo's total, not DS software sales.

Here are the estimates given by the article:
Wii - 70 million units
DS - 60 million units
Xbox 360 - 50 million units
PS3 - 30 million units

Mind you, that still means that the 360 is selling more software units for each console sold than the Wii, but the Wii is beating it in overall software sales by ~20 million. Pretty good news for both Microsoft and Nintendo, really.
