Nice, LBP now Resistance 2. Better make room for the PS3 later tonight.
Cool. I stand by my claim that this is the hardest game I have ever played. I have died at least 30 times in the first 2 to 3 hours on normal. I only died 2 times in Gears 2 the entire campaign and play tons of shooters so I wouldn't say I am bad at shooters. Resistance 1 was much easier.
i dead in Ninja Gaiden 2 more than 200 hundred times and its the total for 2 playthrought normal and easy.
playing ninja dog is like accepting u were castrated.....i've beaten normal, and hard......im in the process of getting whipped on very hard...funny thing is.....i'll pwn hard now, normal and ninja dog are no match for me....game actually does train u while killing u mercilessly...GAIDEN IS NOT FOR THE WEAK OF HEART!
Noob. I didn't die once in either NGS or NG2. Of course, I've put in over 3000 hours of Devil May Cry 3. That game doesn't forgive very easily.
UR LYING. NOBODY...I MEAN NOBODY....CAN PLAY EVERY DIFFICULTY IN NG AND NOT DIE....I CALL BS.
3000 hours huh? I call BS.
3000 HRS = 125 DAYS
I thought Resistance 1 was WAY harder. I had significant trouble beating R1 on Normal. Seriously, I must have died something like 200 times. I have died less than 200 total times across my time with Resistance 2 campaign, and that includes a full Casual play-through, full Difficult play-through, full Superhuman play-through, and some random segments (like the Chicago level again) on Normal in Arcade Mode. Less than 200 deaths across all those. I found that being able to restore all of my health at any moment makes the game ridiculously easier. In Resistance 1, if you take one bullet too many, then that's an entire quarter of your health that ain't coming back. Presents a serious challenge, and quite frankly I'm glad it was gone from Resistance 2, because as awesome as the campaign was in the first game, I never had any desire to play it again because it was kind of frustrating for me. The frustration outweighed the coolness of the level design in some ways. But that's just my opinion. Resistance 2 was more well-balanced and pleasant to just enjoy and have some fun blasting Chimera.
R2 hardest game...? Seriously, Ninja Gaiden on the highest difficulty is... Well, there isn't a word for how hard it is. It's that HARD.
Why do I have a disagree? How long is 3000 hours by your clock?
Got it! But then i got a spontaneous urge to play single player. ...so that's what im doing now. :D I love this game now... Just got into competitive on the weekend... been addicted since.
I love resistance 2
'Addicted' to the cooperative here. Great fun!
I can't get "into" the co-op mode. The single player campaign is sick as is the competitive but I HATE the co-op. Very, very boring, SO repetitive, enemies like the stalker, drones, and Titans take so long to kill. I was playing on Orick once with a *** Titan and it took a good 10-12 minutes to take the 2 of them out. I was bored to tears at just firing away. It is not challenging, it is retarded. You have just 3 classes and you do the same thing over and over on each map.
I do understand why you think that way. I know it's the same, but i still find it fun. At least until he 25th... ;) I finished the single campaign 2 times. Loved it.
I agree... the co-op was boring. :/
Too bad the patch didn't fix the major issues. R:FoM = year long addiction R2 = 3 month binge R:FoM gameplay makes R2 seem like the slightly retarded brother.
Which issues? But I agree. RFoM gameplay is better than R2.
weapon balancing berzerk balancing lobby system team match making SPAWN POINTS! broken skirmish gameplay you know, the MAJOR issues. making the Stalker walk in Coop is the least of their worries. This game is more frustrating than FUN. Only 500 kills in comp and 2 levels in coop until this game never goes in my PS3 again.
What the hell happened to RESISTANCE? Yes, this is another one of “those” posts…This is not about complaining or giving crap to Insomniac. I am writing this because I fell in love with R:FoM and the sequel has me scratching my head. I have been around since the beginning, over 50,000 total kills and over 1,000 kills with every weapon in R:FoM. I rarely post, but visit the forum often. This is only intended as feedback and opinion from a fan….I still consider Insomniac one of the best. This is all feedback on Competitive play: One of the biggest changes that I don’t understand is the lack of identity for the Humans and Chimeras. R2 is really just normal looking humans Vs ugly looking humans. What happened to the Chimera? Are they really just humans with different skins? What happened to the Rage? What happened to the weakness of heat? What happened to the differences in these two races? R:FoM -Human - -Chimera- Resembles a Human Resembles Monster/Alien Moves like a Human Moves unlike a normal Human Can run Has Rage Has Radar Can See through Walls Exploit Heat Advantage Weakness to Heat R2 -Human- -Chimera- Resembles a Human Resembles a human with a costume on Moves like a Human Moves like a Human Can Run Can Run Has Radar Has Radar Has Improved Radar-Berserk Has Rage-Berserk No heat advantage No heat weakness So basically in R2 the Humans and Chimera are EXACTLY the same except for that ONE berserk difference. And do many people even use those when there is invisibility, LAARK/Pulse, Ironheart, and Ring of Life at their disposal? I am sure they changed it to make the game “fair”, but that makes it less fun. One of the best aspects of R:Fom was taking out a Raging Chimera who should have just kicked your ass. In R2 there is no satisfaction in killing a Chimera because they have the same exact abilities as you. In R:FoM there were two rounds, usually you played one as a Human and one as a Chimera. You got to play with the pros and cons of both races that way, and it was totally fair. In R2 there is one round where it really makes no difference if you are human or Chimera. This is boring and lacks the overwhelming feeling of being attacked by a creature who should be stronger than yourself. Berserks suck, plain and simple. I don’t understand how giving an advantage to a veteran player makes this game fun for newcomers. Shouldn’t all players have the same abilities at their disposal from the start and let the skill of those abilities determine the better player? “Oh you are new to the game? Here let me blast you with my Pulse Cannon, slap you in the face while I’m invisible, and laugh as your bullets tickle me while my ironheart or ring of life is enabled. You will have better luck once you level up enough to have these perks you noob” And really what is the point after all the players level up and have these perks? It just turns into a rock, paper, scissor game of who has what ability and when that ability gets activated. Another thing that erks me is that you can’t see if an opponent has the ring of life or ironheart ability activated until you are close to them. Two opponents can be in a gunfight at midrange distance and you can’t tell if they have a berserk activated. Only until it shows the player that killed you do you see the ring or the ironheart bubble. “Oh, so that’s why I lost” Berserks only give a greater advantage to good players. Im sorry, but the secondary fire of the Marksman has got to be the LAMEST choice for Competitive play. Releasing scouting shock orbs that take more than a ¼ of your health and require absolutely no skill is quite sad. What’s worse is the orb will continue to kill you even if you killed your opponent. Sure you can shoot down the orb, but honestly is anyone really successful at that? I know the Splicer acts the same way with the secondary fire. It can still kill you after you have taken your opponent down, but your opponent actually had to aim and land the blade in the first place; not just hit the secondary fire button and watch the sparks fly. Omission of the Arc Charger and Dragon. These were two of the coolest and most original weapons in R:Fom. They added diversity to the weapon set and were FUN to use. The Grenade icon doesn’t seem to be accurate, and the Hedgehog is the worst. One spike seems to kill you and the icon, when it shows up, is terribly inaccurate to where I am standing. There are more LAARKS/Pulse Cannons and 40’s in R2 than in R:FoM. 40’s were one of the biggest complaints in R:FoM and now there are more of them. Also, why is there no stat tracking of the 40mm use? This was asked for many times on R:FoM, thought for sure it would have made it into this game. The weapon wheel – this has been beat to death, but I miss it and it’s a shame the two weapon system is used JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER FPS. Using the sixaxis to view the map and stats. This feature was GREAT in R:FoM. You could check the stats of all the players and view the entire map just by tilting the controller in each direction. You could continue to run and aim while checking either screen. In R2 I have to use my thumb to hit select to check the stats. Sure this is a simple feature, BUT WHY OMIT THINGS IN A SEQUEL THAT WORKED SO WELL IN THE ORIGINAL? Why is there no in game messaging system??? In R:Fom after a game was over there were always “good games” flying around and communicating with new players. Now if I want to send a message I have to access the XMB, and type the name of the person I want to send a message to. The omission of in game messaging takes R2 a couple steps backwards. Yes, I know, I have a mic, but after the game is over I would still like to easily send a message to “xxXXR4peR4liFeXXxx” and NOT have to type his name out. Air Vents – the new style is sad. There is very little control and choice about how to maneuver. If an opponent hits the air vent, I know where he is going. “let me just prepare myself to kill you because I KNOW where your going to land.” Free control air vents add tactical decisions, not predetermined destinations. A lot of people are always proclaiming that the changes to R2 from R:Fom are progressive. Well, just because a change was made, doesn’t mean it was in the right direction. I have no problem with change, but the changes made to R2 have created a game just like all the other FPS. To me, change means different NOT the same. All the original ideas from R:Fom are stripped away and R2 is just a skeleton of its predecessor. Again, this may come off as complaining, but it is strictly feedback from a fan of the original game. I will still play R2 for a little bit, but I already know it will not infect me like FoM did. I really hope there is a R3, but I hope it takes more from FoM and just a small pinch from R2. Thank you Insomniac for your outstanding track record, I know you can’t please everyone. Just wish more of the originality from FoM was preserved. Campaign Note: I would rather have smaller bosses that actually put up a fight (R:Fom), than 300 foot monsters that look VERY cool, but are insultingly easy to beat and very unrewarding with a sense of accomplishment (R2).
^^ I agree with you. I like R2, though, and I am pretty addicted to the co-op (when/if I find the time), but you are right. I miss my R:FoM, because R2 is no sequel (gameplay wise), its to watered down to make it mainstream that I miss the unique character R:FoM had. Hope R3 will go back to its roots, though.
Yeah i also miss the 1-hit kills, the melee games and especially the snipers only games 1-hit of course. Also some of RFOM levels like the Bus yard, and lexington .
I couldn't have said it better myself. Bubbles for you. R2 is hands down the most disappointing sequel I have ever played.
I'd add to that list of things to fix -the headshots-. The head almost act as a normal part of the body and is not very much more vulnerable than the rest. The competition mode isn't that great because of most of what you said and the crappy damage detection. I shouldn't have to waste a clip in the face of an opponent to kill it.
This game is not for everyone, I love it and im almost there to my 10k kills! About 3,000 more to go with a 1.8 k/d ratio, not bad. I pwn with my carbine.
I'm barely around 2K. I only need the 10K trophy to get Platinum (I wanted to get the other trophies first), but maybe I should have gone for the 10K first. That's the hardest to get :(
co-op 2nd player stats save now. they will load your psayer 1 stats
that makes me so happy. you have no idea how long i've waited for that one feature alone.
Send me a link to where is says this.
it doesn't say it anywhere they just added it in the patch. i already played 3 games with it. you will have to equip all the add ons every time you play but it doesn't cost grey tech. it says it takes the grey tech away but you will just restart the game and the add ons will go away but the grey tech returns
i thought the single player was easier this time around i actually beat superhuman without too much trying still died a lot but it was possible
They just made the co-op easier. Chimeras now die faster... = \
R2 is fvcking amazing.
Got bored of the game right after I beat single-player and sold it.
Before the patch, i can play ps2 dual shock controller with the adaptor playing with my brother in Coop game. Now i cant use the controller.... hopefully the patch gets refix, cant wait to play coop with my brother again !
