Economic times are tough nowadays. How does a gamer survive and keep up on gaming? The library! Borrow PLAYSTATION 3, Wii and Xbox 360 games for free, with the original game box, manual and disc.
I think this is to good to be true but if it is blockbuster is gonna be fukced.
Not exactly, notice how they won't borrow out M rated games. Still a huge blow if this goes mainstream though.
Still a few good games to be had, though. This could be great for people with financial troubles.
great thier goes my tax dollars.
Then i realized that the library's still have to buy the games from developers so they're still making money.
Except this time less people are buying those games. The devs sell one copy to the library and thus lose out on x sales over x years.
This happens in the UK!!!
my local one does it anyways :D but not new games only like few years old ones :D
@4.1 Anywhere near the south east coast?
My local library has been offering videogames for the past year, I always rent games that i'm iffy about there, their PS3 and 360 selection is lacking, but their PS2 selection has everything you could want from MGS3 to GOW to Kingdom Hearts lol
Could be interesting but who knows how these games would run with damage from your average joe. The only reason I hate shopping at EB is to receive a disk error after coming home with a used disk (Happened most recently during The Boss fight in MGS3. Had to beat her in under 2 minutes to stop it from freezing). Hopefully most libraries will have a policy to minimize disk scratching.
you said MGS3 so I'm assuming it's the real boss from the PS2!! the good thing about Blu-ray disks is that thier a lot more scratch resistant that your standard DVD's. I feel less worried when looking at used PS3 games!
it's free. no cost to you, even the library card is free.
Johnny Rotten, Your dead on.
they did this a long time ago at my local library with nes and snes games when i was little it failed cause people would just borrow the games and never give them back at all. Course I haven't been to our local library in years but I highly doubt they risk doing something like this again.
yea but now, local library's have real good computer tech, and if you don't turn something in, it shows when you apply for a job, credit card, or other things. i know >.> cause i had a 70$ fine thanks to my sis, i had to pay it off before i could get my current job. -nai-
ermm not sure but if you are in the greenwich borough then yes :)
Thanks for reply but I'm so far south, anymore and I'd be in the sea :D will check out local library for titles.
does have game rentals, but there are basically no PS3 games for me to borrow and if they had any I doubt they would be any good.
I go to college in a different state, however, when I came back home to visit, i noticed that my local library (Schaumburg Township Library, IL), carries PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii games. This was at least 1 and 1/2 years ago, so i dont know how long they have been doing it. crazy.
i can borrow games from the local library too. Canada.
