GameSpy writes: "It's a real rogue's gallery. A collection of game titles so insidiously cool, so despicably awesome, that we have no choice but to pursue and apprehend. These games are monsters, remorseless in their pursuit of fun, and 2009 is the year we hope to bring them to justice. The only thing they have in common? They all remain at large.
The Sims 3 (PC)
Gamers have mixed reactions to the Sims franchise, but if you've enjoyed the open-ended, anything-goes gameplay of Sims 2 -- like we have -- then Sims 3 should be one of the highlights of 2009. Previous Sims games operated in a kind of time-warp: The family you were playing with would age and go through changes, while the rest of the world would stay static. Sims 3 pulls back the camera and simulates not just a single lot, but a whole town, all at once. Things will happen all around the neighborhood as you play, and exploring a vast, living community is as easy as walking down the street."
