For all it has going for it, it's too bad that Android's gameplay is hampered by an inadequate d-pad control scheme. The directional controls are spaced too far apart, and it's hard to hit any of them consistently or with precision. Worse, there are several moments that require a diagonal button press - climbing a ladder to reach a horizontal vine, for instance - which can only be accomplished by using two fingers at once. This is awkward, to say the least, and the enemy characters aren't very likely to forgive any control-related stumbling.
