Apple Says ''No'' to Low-Cost iPhone

Brighthand writes: "Apple's acting CEO has flatly stated that his company isn't going to release a less expensive version of its iPhone. Tim Cook said, "You know us, we're not going to play in the low-end voice phone business. That's not who we are. That's not why we're here."

This is a blow to rampant rumors of an iPhone Nano -- a smaller, less expensive version of the current iPhone 3G. Unconfirmed reports of this device have been circulating for months, with a debut rumored for later this year."
