Mobile phone prices start to fall

Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson could be set to slash prices in the face of slipping consumer demand. Prices of mobile phones from Nokia and its main rivals have started to fall as demand dips and retails cut inventory after the holidays. Consumer electronics demand slumped in the key Christmas season, and handset vendors Motorola and Sony Ericsson have reported grim sales figures.
