Armored Core 4 Hands-On Impressions

The Armored Core series has essentially defined the console mech experience during its lifespan. Don't let the name Armored Core 4 mislead you-From Software has been steadily refining its formula over the course of more than 10 iterations, starting from the PlayStation original. With AC4, the series dips its giant metal toe into the next-gen. Game Informer got to stomp around with the upcoming PlayStation 3 version, and it looks like it's going to make fans happy. (Armored Core 4, PS3, Xbox 360)

Big shiny things that go boom...
...ooooh...aaaahh. Seriously, tho, this mech-loving gamer can't wait. I loved Mechassault 1, liked 2, and thought Chromehounds was solid, and since the Armored Core series usually outpaces other mech games, this should be exceptional.

I'm really looking forward to customizing my mech and finally being able to battle people online. I wonder if the online battle mode is strictly 1 vs 1 or more than just that.

hmm...light and quick, or heavy-armored and powerful?

Voice chat missing from online?
I find this ommission on the PS3 version very, very curious. I am curious to see if the 360 version will offer it up in game or if players will need to use live chat to talk to each other? Either way...very odd that they would leave that off the multiplayer.

specialguest...it stated multiplayer would be upto 8. So 4 vs 4 is my guess on that one.
