Redeeming the magic access code that makes these 18 tracks appear in Rock Band is crucial, even if you don't consider yourself a die-hard follower. They simply serve to improve the experience. However, this is still a poor excuse for a standalone game that is sitting on shop shelves and on internet sites, luring people in with its AC/DC charms. Therefore the choice is really rather simple: purchase it to upgrade your library, but stay far away if you're a Rock Band noob. A shame, because this could, and really should, have been excellent.
