Windows 7 beta is now available for download in both 32 and 64 bit versions.
I'm havin trouble getting the download started. I think this might not be fully operation JUST yet.
It's because there's thousands or even more people trying to download it at once, so servers are getting hammered like crazy lol
I don't have any more partition space on my laptop. Between XP, Vista, OSX and Linux, I've reached the limit for primary partitions.
Still going to use XP.
Was going to write the same thing
What even when Windows 7 launches? Unless you have a seriously weak PC, why?
Honestly to me it does not matter what type of OS I'm using Linux, Windows, Apple. They still process the same activities I do on any normal computer. Browse Internet when bored. Photoshop Manage my site. I don't really need a "top of the line" OS or computer to perform these actions. I leave gaming to my consoles.
All there going to do with this is force it on people same as vista. I'll stick to XP until all the bugs are ironed out
Fair enough guys, I wasnt trying to knock you or XP. But Windows 7 is going to be a BIG step up from Vista. I think maybe you should at least have a look at a later date, you might be surprised by the performance/look.
From there track record i never buy anything these release right away until its fixed and im hoping to completely skip Vista
I have Vista installed on my work computer. No Problems. Windows 7 looks and reminds me of XP only slightly. I'll for sure try it but not until the future when the product releases. I will just stop by my local electronics store and find a computer with the software pre-installed, and enjoy it from there. Only then will I consider. I'm just use to XP.
Sticking with XP is good and all, but I'm running Windows 7 build 7000 and all I can say is that I'm IMPRESSED. Take into consideration that I'm a hardcore Linux buff... Windows 7 is what Windows Vista SHOULD have been when it launched. It is a HUGE improvement over Vista, and I can honestly say that I would take Windows 7 over Windows XP. Windows 7 is worth checking out. The boot/shutdown times are improved vastly over Vista, and dare I say a tad snappier than XP. Application compatibility is great so far, and the addition of driver updates in Windows Updates is a WELCOME change.
theres no reason to. 7 is being proven to be faster than xp and vista.
danm the server is to busy lol
Ditto on that. I take a couple hour break from refreshing every 5 minutes and missed the "window" it was open for download.
x86 vers. http://wb.dlservice.microso... x64 vers. http://wb.dlservice.microso... PATCH for MP3 Corruption You can download the 32-bit (x86) version here and the 64-bit (x64) version here. (dont click on the link, copy the shortcut) Thank me later.
eh? There is no Windows 7 Beta Download link there? I'm just getting the Windows homepage.
Is that the 32 bit or 64 bit one? ~ I'm looking for 64 bit :3
that link worked perfectly, thanks, bypassed the waiting and i got it.
Works, thanks. Is it 64bit? Fishy, right click on the link and choose copy link or copy link location depending on your broswer. Paste in the address bar and voila. If you click on it you'll go to the home page. I'm in England.
Where are you guys getting the link from? Where is the DL? I get a quick look at the Windows 7 DL page then it jumps straight to the homepage.
@ Fingers, copy the link and paste it into a new window
Ignore all that, did a restart, tried IE rather than Firefox and it worked a treat. Cheers dude. +1
i dont want to thank you later i wanna thank you now and here's a laugh
I have been trying to get this for a a half an hour now. Your link worked great. Once again thanks.
Should have it in 1hr. Thanks Omega.
can you confirm that the MP3 patch is included in these versions, since Microsoft made no reference to it? Thanks
how did you get a disagree for helping people?
It's N4g. Thats how you get a disagree. Maybe he owns a 360 or because he's helping people get a microsoft product?
Because there always be one. Frankly, on n4g im not surprised.
Hey you guys know if we need a key for this after the 30 days?
@Voozi I dont think we need a key, however I do know that the beta expires August 1st 09
Voozi, yeah, you'll need a code (after 30 days), UNLESS you use a crack to remove it. Working, virus free crack: http://www.mininova.org/tor... ^Also removes the watermark.
Thanks for the links Omega!
Damn only got to 75% and I think MS pulled it.
Yeah, i only got to 9% :(
how do i know wheather to get the 32 bit or 64 bit for my computer heres its specs 4 gb ram 280 gb hd 2 ghz processor and 64 bit operating system right now which one would it run better though?
whats your processor
You want the 64 bit version, windows 32 bit won't detect all 4gb of your ram, it'll only get like 3.25gb, a 64 bit os will allow Windows to detect & utilize all 4+ gigs of ram, so go with 64 bit
Like Voozi said, if you get the 32 bit version you will only be able to use up to 3gb of your ram. Oh and Windows 7 is supposed to run a hell of a lot smoother than xp or vista. Not only on the ram, but installing it and surfing internet, as well as many other things been looking forward to this.
I'm not sure whether to get the 64 bit version either. I have 32 bit XP. My machine specs are: GM5088 AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ 2.41 GHz, 1.87 GB of RAM Also of note I have the Media Center Edition, ver 2002. I have never been a big PC gamer...with a decent graphics card could I get into the game? Thanks guys/girls
amd turion x2
this is 7000 built right?
yea "It's fully confirmed that the beta 1 build is 7000 that leaked shortly after Christmas. "
My XP laptop is crap. It has a 1.3Ghz celeron processor but it does have an (upgraded) 1.25 GB RAM. Do you think it could handle Windows 7? I know it covers the minimum specs but do you think it would run better than XP. I find that Microsofts minimum specs are never high enough if you want to run a smooth machine.
I'd say you'll probably be alright. You'll also need 3000mb minimum HDD space (5-10gb would be better) partitioned off for the install. Also that old sucker got an ok DX9 card? or you wont get the "aero effect" (glass). Not sure you'd really see any gain over XP mind. Time for an upgrade first?
what did I say that deserved a bubble to be taken away? You rascally varmint stealin me bubbles you should be ashamed of yourself.
I would have acquired this through a torrent.
you just burn the iso onto a dvd right Edit: Thanks man im going to install it now
Yeah, use nero or whatever, here's an install guide that teaches you how to install/run Windows 7 along side your current OS. It's refers to a netbook but the info is the same for any PC > http://thetechnicist.typepa... Virtual PC is another good option, google it.
Great, I just tried to get it and it says "Windows 7 beta coming soon!" Jerks. QQ
Yeah, it's not up on the Windows 7 site nor on Technet (for non-subscribers that is). Servers either aren't up, or they are way too swamped.
Got my keys a few hours ago. Get yours now! :D
what happen lol did M$ took it out lol now it says Windows® 7 Beta coming soon!
http://download.microsoft.c... Edit : This is the 32 bit version. Will expire in 30 days, without key.
It's downloading now. I'll tell you how it is later.
and where is this mysterious key.
how can you get a product key for Windows 7 Edit: why did i get a disagree. It ask for the key
it stops at 504MB
To bad you guys dont have access to MSDN since i work for an IT company. Downloading right now....
It shows its abotu 2gigs but only downloads 100MB of it.
Great speed too I'm getting about 2.75 - 3.2MB/sec. I'll have the 2.44GB file in about 15min!
