Logitech Believes Advertisements Can Reduce Hardware Costs

Speaking with GameCyte's Jesse Henning, Logitech's director of product marketing for gaming, Ruben Mookerjee, shared his belief on the future of game (and tech) advertising.

According to Ruben, in the future we'll see more creative advertising offsetting costs, thereby reducing retail prices. The example he gives involves Logitech's G19 gaming keyboard, and streaming advertisements across its display.

I for one wouldn't mind a couple of weeks of sporadic scrolling advertisements if it meant I could get $200 keyboards for 1/4 the cost.

Now, marketers can target you by measuring your internet activity. But with a system like this, they could theoretically record every single word you type, and every application you use and game you play that's designed to send data to the miniature screen.
