The team behind Metro 2033: The Last Refuge says that the game will be the best of the best. The game will have very good graphics. More information in the article (use the translate button)
Wow this must have slipped many ppl's radar. Another PS3 exclusive (albeit also on PC) but here;s hoping it gains some appeal... i can see this being a sleeper title but heres hoping im wrong.
lol but it on 360, and pc yep ps3 exclusive
Where did it say it was coming out for Xbox 360?
I think it was PS3 & PC before, but now it is also going to come out on 360.
I found an article stating that it might come to Xbox 360 but no confirmation from the developers. If some one could cite the source that would be great.
http://www.n4g.com/xbox360/... "Metro 2033 for Xbox 360: BioShock and Left4Dead's Younger Sibling" A preview on an xbox 360 website submitted earlier today. I'd say it's multiplat. PC Trailer (pre-alpha): HD: http://www.gametrailers.com... SD: Below
The title of the article claims so but every source I've found on the game doesn't mention anything about Xbox 360, maybe in due time perhaps then. No where in OXCGN's article does it mention them saying anything about it coming onto Xbox 360, it's just speculation from the websites author.
Well according to the official site: http://www.4a-games.com/ 4A-Engine4A-Engine is a complete game development framework for next-generation consoles and DirectX9-equipped PC’s, providing the vast array of core technologies, content creation tools, and support infra¬structure. Next-gen consoles, plural. But various sites like IGN only list PS3/PC in their previews from 2006 ( http://uk.ps3.ign.com/artic... ) so maybe things of changed, but I'm not sure a 360 site would run a preview otherwise. All a bit weird.
It is in my OXM mag so id say it on the 360 also might not look or play as good as ps3 version but it will be on the 360 hope they dony downgrade the ps3 version
Plagerisim anyone? This site stole my article directly from PSU.com: http://www.psu.com/Metro-20...

"4A-Engine: [...] Deferred Shading – allows hundreds of lights in frame, in huge, complex scenes Only Dynamic Lighting – and ability to use light-shaders, with dozens of special effects [...]" Maybe that's why ?
Who cares if it's multiplat or not. Lets just hope it's as good as its creators seem to think. It does look good though.
Here is the official word ON THEIR FORUMS. http://www.4a-games.com/com... "The game is currently being developed for pc platform, but later is planned to be ported to PS3 and Xbox360. While PS3 having higher priority." Cited and sourced. Now everyone can breathe.
I've been very interested in this game, hopefully it lives up to its standards.
I hope it will be a sleeper hit ;-) Interesting information in the article
The game coming for PS3? please answer for me.
Yes it is coming for the PS3
sure at 100%? I Don't saw that they said that game coming for ps3
The say that Metro 2033 for the PS3 will be the best of the best so that means that the game will come to the PS3 ;-)
@panasonic23 find the game on this site then see if it is exclusive or not http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Wow, it's been a long time i didn't hear about Metro 2033, one of the first games announced on PS3 but never ever been commented. I thought it was vaporware, but it's good to hear it's still planned.
I've heard of this game. Hopefully it's good.
Just asking, what developer wouldnt say that about his/hers own game? I know I would, it's called making a hype.
That trailer doesn't look very promising. The voice acting leaves a lot to be desired and the creatures resemble pigs in a more comical way than the developer probably wants.
It is a old trailer, right?
I kind of agree...the narrator sounds like Van Damme or something ("A world...that leaves...no place...for the mankind"...hahahahaha) I know its supposed to be a Russian accent, but its still very cheesy... and I agree with kennedy...the enemies look like up right pigs with aardvark snouts...and its cornier than they are hoping it seems...not many 'horror' type shooters survive when the enemies are more funny than scary... but yeah...its an old trailer...maybe it will turn around...but in this genre, there is no room for something that that trailer portrays...it would be the horror/action equivalent of Conflict: Denied Ops...
You mean it wont have cell powered 4D super-graphics???? Only "very good" graphics? I kid, I kid. Anything that is good for the PS3 is good for me.
Lets hope so ;-)
We only have a million of those to look out for
For my PC to chew up and spit out, hooray! I miss a good PC FPS story game. Hopefully this delivers.
it's a ps3 exclusive, so that means it's already one of the best games out there, lol
i mean i wouldnt care if its multiplatform i just hope they dont downgrade the ps3 version cuz of the 360
honestly i dont know how the 360 will survive 2009
2 words: Halo Fit
Those screenshots are pretty impressive. I'm glad to hear the developer mention how they will take advantage of the PS3 hardware. Here is another message, this one from the forum admin (from 2006): "The game is currently being developed for pc platform, but later is planned to be ported to PS3 and Xbox360. While PS3 having higher priority."
Please don't try to pass your personal habits on to others. It might work for you and Microsoft, but I don't swing that way.
The titular is fake . Thanks to Jpinter ;). The original interwiew is for PC gamer US , and is the same interwiew for all plataforms http://www.gamesradar.com/p... Metro 2033: The Last Refuge - first look Comrade-iation Words: Evan Lahti, PC Gamer US If the waves made by BioShock are still rippling within the industry, Metro 2033 may be the first game to wash ashore. The setup: In 2011, a worldwide nuclear catastrophe decimated civilization. Moscow citizens retreated to the tubes, building a network of city-states along the underground subways to avoid the surface, where radiation spawned breeds of psychic supermutants: sedan-sized bats and rats, hulking ogres, and ghostly anomalies. These abominations have kept humanity hiding under the covers for two decades, and during our demo, they had me checking the walls for a nite-light, too. I was introduced to the docile-sounding “librarians” while walking through a library’s ruined reference section (with no printing presses, books become very valuable in Metro). The creatures are vicious if you try to hammer the trigger, but won’t attack as long as you keep looking directly at them. Just when I thought I’d safely crept away, a winged beast plucked one of our comrades and crashed back through a window, throwing him outside. Aside from the beasts, 4A is focusing on forging what it calls “emotional believability.” Simple features are used to drive immersion, like using a handheld journal to plot routes and mark objectives, jabbing yourself with a syringe to restore health, and watching your gas mask slowly frost up when you’re wandering the surface. All of this has us hopeful for what 4A Games is shooting for: a Half-Life-like, narrative-focused experience similar but wildly different from the apocalyptic PC game many members of the dev team helped create in 2007, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. It’s encouraging to see one fewer developer feeling the pressure to shoehorn a multiplayer mode into its story-driven shooter, and we’re hoping an atmospheric, personal single-player experience will emerge as a result. Q&A: Andrew Prokhorov, Creative Director at 4A Games What aspects of Metro will make it stand out among other shooters? Our idea is that no single feature can create a game, no matter how interesting this feature is. The unique atmosphere of the game is needed. A game becomes enjoyable only when I forget that I’m playing a videogame, when I put myself in a character’s place, when I believe I live in his world. If a player laughs with game characters, if he feels like he’s suffocating in the real world while his character is suffocating in a gas mask with worn-out filters on the surface of a ruined city, if he feels the breath coming from a monster’s mouth - then we’ve reached our goal. What are the strengths of the graphics engine you’ve developed? There isn’t a single static light source; basically, light bulbs “shake and break.” The number of light sources in a frame is limited by common sense, not by programmers. But fully dynamic lighting isn’t an end in itself; it allows us to create the game in the process of playing it, without wasting time on recalculation of lightmaps, shadows, and other stuff. We also use visualization technology to give the game a film-like image, and we’re adding 64-bit HDR with eye adaptation, depth of field, motion blur, and PhysX. What homemade weapons and tools can players expect to wield in the apocalypse? There are quite a lot of them - a revolver that can be upgraded to a carbine, a multi-barreled crossbow, and an air-powered rifle. There is also a self-made machine gun (despised by our publisher) called Bastard. It works awfully, always jamming and making players feel like throwing it away! The transportation in Metro deserves special mention: trolleys that range from basic to muscle-powered to underground tanks. + Unconventional enemies and design inside a BioShocky, insulated setting. Impressive lighting and engine tech. Homemade weapons that we hope will be customizable. – We only saw a few snow-covered surface stages to contrast the underground gameplay. Giving players outdoor areas will be key. Dec 19, 2008
What is the game about? I've never heard of it.
