Sony May Not Meet LCD TV Sales Target, President Says

Sony Corp., the world's second-largest consumer electronics maker, may miss its target for liquid- crystal-display television sales on lower-than-expected revenue in North America and Europe, the company's president said.

The company's 16 million units target for the 12 months ending March is "tough to reach," President Ryoji Chubachi said in an interview with Bloomberg Television today. "We characterize the environment for our year-end sales as severe."

I got a Sony Bravia 52" for Christmas, so I tried to help them!

It's an extremely nice LCD and I couldn't be happier with it.

It's not the products, it's the economy. People are just holding onto their wallets until things settle down.

This is pretty much par for the course in this economical climate for pratically every company. How is this news relevant to the gaming community? Can we even name 5 companys worldwide that is meeting or surpassing sales target right now, without drastically reducing the price or in some cases taking a loss on the sales?

Edit @above I would love to get my hands on a Bravia set but my 56" Samsung DLP is still kicking major ass right now and I can't bear to part with it yet. Dlps are the best for gaming and sports!
