I can see this being a hit among Japanese gamers! M$ is surely on fire with th effort to tap more into japanese market this year! at least, this is better than that lego indy + kung fu panda bundle!

lord_of_balrogs3484d ago

I would of bought these bundles had they been released here in Canada.

I mean why make a few billions when you can lose a few billions? Oh wait...

nirwanda3483d ago

if they had made a biohazard console like the blue dragon console this would sell like hell, and may even have dented PS3 sales, can't believe the star ocean console don't even come with the game or the face plate if you don't pre order star ocean

desperate times call for desperate measures...with about 4 jrpgs under its belt it still hasn't caught least their still trying...

whats so desperate about trying to sell a game that offers high potential of sales in japan?

Last i knew..every console gets especial bundles.. from PS3's MGS4 bundle , GT5P bundle , Yakuza 3 bundle , LBP 80gb bundle to 360's The Last Remnant bundle , Infinite Unidiscovery bundle and Tales of Vesperia bundles.

On the other hand, the 360 is pretty much being given away in Japan and still being bundled. Microsoft doesn't give a sh1t about profitability in Japan. The sad thing is that they don't even trust their own products, they know their own products are garbage so they have to sell them at a discount.

Instead of doing that Microsoft could have built a much bigger Mistwalker, sell the 360 at the regular price, and let Mistwalker churn out more titles every year. But no, Microsoft and their b1tch moves. Always following, never leading.

Rating: 60 out of 100
Star Ocean: First Departure's updated presentation fails to disguise its shallow gameplay or limited appeal.

I can't suggest the quality of this game from just one review however it's pretty irrelevant when dealing with japanese culture and JRPG's bundled with Biohazard 5 (a.k.a. Resident Evil 5) I'm sure this bundle will move 10,000 units.

Graphics Whore3484d ago

Edit: 10,000-30,000 units moved is actually really good for Xbox 360 in Japan, it may seem low but I'm not bulling the statistics.

Mayle3484d ago

Why are you talking about a review for a psp game that was just a remake of the first game? You know this is called Star Ocean:The Last Hope

Graphics Whore3484d ago

Whoops, my bad metacritic had a bad link anyway, I don't have faith in Star Ocean 4 anyway but it will move consoles.

but I gotta give it to MS and the 360... not waving the white flag of surrender and tapping out. They are still trying and fighting hard over there. While most people view this as a sad/pathetic one... I view how MS is handling the 360 over in Japan is actually quite noble. It's not about coming in last place in console sales (over there at least, lol), it's about putting in an effort instead of not trying at all. The real losers are the ones that don't at least try to find something out themselves!

Great comment... even though I hate microsoft you still got to give them credit for this move.

I havent got my 360 yet but I sure in the hell would jump all over this deal if it were availible on U.S. soil. The 360 doesnt need a push in the USA so I doubt this will ever see the light of day here but it sure would be nice. *AWSOME Bundle though, the best I've seen since the PS3 bundled with Uncharted and LBP.

just for this bundle if it were available here, it'd be a bargin!
