LMAO, great now more people gonna hate them xD

I don't think it will have that much impact since Nintendo will provide a certain amount of content.
Not the whole TV library?

FantasyStar3484d ago

I wouldn't be worried. Sure VoD is great and all, but I'd rather pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited TV than the pay-as-you-go model that many VoD services that are currently around.

People want to see videos in HD if they have a HD tv...something not even possible with the wii. Plus the wii is gonna have to stream this tv stuff...the PS3 will already do it for free with Xbox 360 will do it with gold membership with a netflick account.

Voiceofreason3484d ago

Since when is HD required for VOD? Some how I dont think you understand whats being said.

ChickeyCantor3484d ago (Edited 3484d ago )

Japan, isn't converted to SD yet, they will be soon.
Their whole TV network will go HD.
Meaning Nintendo will make a HD console(and they said they will, they said it in an interview) and then add HD content.

As of right now lots of Japanese household still use SD tv's.

So unless japan is just like you...i'm not sure if your statement works that easy.

Also, remember, they will promote lots of anime with it.
Think, would KIDS care about HD if they have HD hardware?

xlx-russ_923484d ago

i lOl'd, wii cant even handle HD movie lol.

ChickeyCantor3484d ago

All it does is RESTRICT the output video, but no one ever said it can't handle HD movies.
(note: I'm talking resolution)

xlx-russ_923484d ago

im talking about the quality!! Wii is a PS2 dressed up like a MAC!

ChickeyCantor3484d ago

Evidence supports the words right?

Present them.

Parapraxis3484d ago (Edited 3484d ago )

Wow Sidar, you really are delusional.
"All it does is RESTRICT the output video, but no one ever said it can't handle HD movies. "

HIGH DEFINITION VIDEO - High-definition (HD) video generally refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video, most commonly at display resolutions of 1280×720 (720p) or 1920×1080 (1080i or 1080p)

* 480p (PAL/NTSC), 480i (NTSC) or 576i (PAL/SECAM), standard 4:3 and 16:9 anamorphic widescreen
* MultiAV multi-output port for component, composite, S-video, RGB SCART and VGA

.... it can't handle HD content. PERIOD.

ChickeyCantor3484d ago (Edited 3484d ago )

First of all,
No not delusional, I asked for evidence because mister knows it all.
His response: Ask everyone.

are you a moron? That's what i said.
The wii itself doesn't allow resolutions above 480P.

There is a huge difference between "handle" and "not able too".
Wii still supports Component cables, if you are telling me it's not possible to send out a 1080P resolution trough those cables than you my man are the delusional one.
Are you telling me that if Wii gets an update to output 720P/1080p its not able to "handle" a HD resolution movie?

I don't really know, therefor show evidence it can't.
Mister xlx seems to know it all, well then show evidence.
But his pathetic answer shows that i'm talking with someone who can't be taken serious.

Let me rephrase my question:
With the power of the Wii, how do you know it can't handle a 1080P movie?

Parapraxis3484d ago (Edited 3484d ago )

If it can't output it, it can't handle it.
Just because you can use component cables with it doesn't mean it is an HD capable machine.
Keep fighting the good fight, what would Nintendo do without you.

ChickeyCantor3484d ago (Edited 3484d ago )

In it's current state it's not ABLE TO.
HANDLE is something else.
Is it really that hard?

And don't be BS me calling me a fanboy( that's what you did).
If you read my comments I'm ASKING for evidence that it can't handle a HD movie. I'm talking in terms of power.

kwyjibo3484d ago

"If it can't output it, it can't handle it."

It can't handle DVD playback either, only, it can after a mod.

Face it, you have no idea if the Wii actually has the capabilities to deliver HD video content. And nor does anyone else.
