Will Blu-Ray Expose DVD As An Aging Format In 2009?

Now that HD-DVD has gone the way of the dodo and Blu-Ray continues to move upwards and claim more of the market - consumers kinda like that whole high-definition movie thing - it's a given that DVD will begin to show its age at some point.

This being the case, how much longer will it be before game developers start to pine for the advantages of Blu-Ray when they go to create the visions within their heads? There have been many rumors about Microsoft implementing a Blu-Ray drive into the Xbox 360, which would not only be somewhat humiliating from an obvious "crap, they picked the right horse and we didn't" standpoint, but it would also heat things up in the console war. If they don't opt to do this, though, will it be easier for the PlayStation 3 to surge ahead in terms of software?

Hell, I think they are ALREADY doing that, aren't they?

I think the Dark Knight is already showing that. And new releases + lord of the rings will help next year. That is just for movies.

For gaming it will definitely show. Saying most major games will be at least 2 DVD's or more on 360.
