Techworldwide writes: It seems that Gamestop are selling used games much more than new games.
you think it could be a mistake or a price drop
What a shocker *rolls eyes* This is gamestop people.
Shouldn't it be the other way around? LOL.
i know yea Gamestop are on dope LOL
I hate them
we don't have Gamestop in Aus we only have Eb Games, Game Wizards, JB-hi-fi and other gaming stores
doesnt gamestop own eb games??? so pretty much they're the same thing
Same thing buddy. Same thing
They do own eb yea
day after christmas.....so much money to spend so many giftcards, buy 2 get 1 free on used games.....we where slammed from 8-8 at my store all day 2 lines...our store was demolished lol
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 = 79.99 USED, BEAT THE **** UP SMTIII: Nocturne = 49.99 = USED............WTF the label said 39.99 Gamestop's be you, rob you tactics FTL or win depending on which end of the stick your on
i have both those, GS knows they're hard to find
lol i work there my friend....and yes gamestop does rob you........sell your used games on ebay or something.. lol
Gamestop are cheapasses selling used games for more
Earlier today I went to the Gamestop site, and I saw that they had the new Prince of Persia for just $39.99 brand new, I was like WTF?! this game hasn't even been out a month yet and it's been dropped $20 bucks?, but I didn't even notice the used price was higher than the new price because right now, they still have Prince of Persia for $39.99 new and $54.99 used I guess Gamestop hasn't updated their used price on the site yet for certain games, but they really need to.
I can't remember which titles, but I remember seeing a few titles like that where the new game is cheaper than the used. I hate buying at Gamestop, I only buy when they have an exclusive I want.
Aclay i agree with you they do need to upgrade there site.
BY me they have buy 2 used games get 1 free
Lots of games have dropped their prices the last week or two. They just haven't upgraded the database for the new prices yet. At my local gamestop the stickers on boxes are reading 54.99 for used copies of PoP, but they're selling for 36~ or so when the clerk scans them, the same price for every used 40 buck game.
I never buy new games from gamestop unless it is preorder. they effin remove the factory shrink wrap and sell the game as new! it aint new if it is not factory sealed, not in my dictionary.
Yup, I've always hated it when they do that. Lets say for example you wanted to return that game for a refund...they would tell you "Uh, you can only get an exchange cuz its opened."
@Venomish That's true, I feel the same. I want to know my 'new' copy hasn't been previewed by an employee beforehand. I'm sure that's a nice perk, but I would rather have it factory sealed. Still, some folks don't ind though. To each his own.
when I went to buy a ps3 and a copy of mgs 4 the cashier didn't even tell me that it was a used one, I told him I wanted a new one and he said " umm the used one is $5 cheaper are you sure", I told yeah, I would rather pay full price for a brand new one and support KOjima and konami then pay $5 less and get a scratched up disk when a beat up case.
Gamestop really are the worst thing ever... i'm so bummed their greedy asses invaded our little country (Finland) too, literally forcing traditional smaller gameshops out of business, already happened to a couple of my favorite little shops :( just makes me sad to see them give up against this foreign giant. and i just don't get it, because Gamestop is MORE EXPENSIVE!!! why do people choose to go there rather than our own smaller homegrown Finnish gamestores that we all used to support? is just because their name is more cool or what the f*ck? sheep mentality? WHAT?! also, i'm not kidding, many USED (ohh sorry "pre-owned") games are more expensive at Gamestop, then they are NEW at some other gamestores! it is ridiculous. boggles my mind to no end... i was basically shocked when i browsed the local Gamestop's used games, i think Haze was like 60 euros used (biggest WTF ever), and a game like Dead Space had THREE different prices used: 49e, 59e and 65e... (new would be 69e). totally crazy. ohh and the customer service is AWFUL at the Gamestop here, because i'm not perfect i bought one game there and the annoying looking tribal tattooed dude behind the counter wouldnt even look me in the eye when selling the game, and when i asked a question about it, he ignored it completely and didnt even bother to say a word. when i left i still said "thanks and bye!", and again no response. it must suck to work there, if it makes people that apathetic... SO, SUPPORT SMALLER GAMESTORES!!! (if they still exist in your area)
My fav gameshop got closed because of this company :( .
they day b4 christmas, i wanted to buy some best of ps3 game wich are 30bucks, wanted to get it used. Burnout 44, resistance 40 wtf
I've found that quite often Gamestop is inconsistent on their used games pricing. Just today I saw Kingdom Hearts II for $19.99, $17.99 and $14.99. If you find that situation in the store typically they'll sell you the used game for 10% off the cost of a new one or whatever is marked on lowest-priced copy.
