Is your favorite game at the top of the list?

bgrundman3647d ago

Meh to LBP... guess it is just not my bag.

ammonator3647d ago

Just out of curiosity, did you ever try the game?

CrAppleton3647d ago

seriously.. LBP is one of THE MOST addicting games I have ever played

ammonator3647d ago

Bring on the Paintinator!!

MrWeymes3646d ago

Personally, I had a tough time choosing my Game of the Year. It was between Metal Gear Solid 4, and Little Big Planet. While they both have excellent gameplay, the production values, and story of Metal Gear Solid 4 placed it slightly ahead of Little Big Planet in my opinion.

I'm all for MGS4 and LBP for GoTY 2008!!

Fallout 3 totally belongs on the list!

CrAppleton3647d ago

Haven't played that one yet..

JimmyJames703647d ago

If it's half as good as Oblivion, chances are, I'll spend a large part of 2009 playing it.

CrAppleton3647d ago

LOL... playing catch up?

bgrundman3647d ago

It is impossible not to be catching up after this year. There were so many good games.

bgrundman3647d ago

This game will be an endless timesuck... trust me.

ammonator3647d ago

Agreed, and I would place Fallout 3 near the top of my list for GotY. Even though I am only 12 hours into it, which translates to maybe 4 hours of story... Darn you compulsion to explore everything not related to the story. Anywho, it would be a close race between Fable 2, Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, and LittleBigPlanet for GotY in my book.

The 360's 2008 lineup was even better than its stellar 2007. It will be hard to imagine how they can top this in 2009.

JimmyJames703647d ago

Hopefully with some new, unique titles. I want to see stuff I've never seen before.

CrAppleton3647d ago

I want more NEW stuff from EA

MrWeymes3646d ago

The Xbox 360 had a pretty good year, but I have to give the Playstation 3 the "console of the year" award. lol

I look forward to more innovative games like Mirrors Edge, and Little Big Planet, but there is nothing wrong with a game that's been done before, but with better production values. (Example: Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc)

Which console had the best year of releases, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Wii? Maybe even PC should be considered...

JimmyJames703647d ago

PC is definitely for the hardcore and the old school. You won't see Grandma playing an FPS on the PC but you will see her cooking on the Wii.

CrAppleton3647d ago

PC is lame.. lol.. I've never been into PC gaming

bgrundman3647d ago

Might I dare to suggest Peggle Nights on PC for the Senior crowd?

CrAppleton3647d ago

But I would have to say it's 360 with the best show this year.. games like Left4Dead and Gears2 just can't be beat

bgrundman3647d ago

Be nice... PC Gamers need love too

ReTarDedFisHy3647d ago

PS3's lineup this year was staggering with MGS4, LBP and R2.
The 360 had Gears 2, Fable II and L4D. But theeeen, maybe since you're not a PC gamer, L4D is also on PC, and is much better.

So I'd say the PS3 had a better year. Of course I'm not talking fanboy wise (sales) I'm talking gamer wise (games).

killyourfm3647d ago

The PS3 had more innovative titles, and took more chances, ESPECIALLY in the downloadable games department. Kudos to Sony for allowing their publishers to take risks.

The 360 definitely had a solid lineup as well. I call a tie.

MrWeymes3646d ago

By Sony losing exclusive third party support, I think it's made them a better company. Their first party games are absolutely amazing, and while I agree that the 360 had an excellent year as well, I think Sony had a better lineup in 2008, and I really think that 2009 will be another year for Sony, but it's possible that Microsoft has something to unveil that will blow our minds as well.

I bought Oblivion recently, and I saw the Game of the year edition shortly after, if I bought that, would it read my old Oblivion game data? Much appreciated if you can help.

on topic:

It's a close call for me between MGS4 and Fallout 3, just thinking about it makes me sweat....*whew*

killyourfm3647d ago

100% compatible with the original Oblivion game saves. You're good to go.
