I want to see at least a few reviews (none out right now) but this game seems amazing.

I wonder what the adaptive triggers are like when you're holding on for dear life. haha

foker861d ago

Haven't notice any you use bumper r1 for climbing,.. Maybe there is some with bow ,.. (don't have it yet) ,.. But looks like it is going to be a real interesting game (with upgrades, all the survival management (on harder difficulties) and exploration,.. ) ,..But it is a 30 usd game - 2,1 Gigs on PS5 ,.. So people should not expect it to be on the same scale and level as Shadow of colossus,.. but I think these extra survival elements and cool climbing options. amazing music and atmosphere,.. Could become a cult classic.

Yeah, I'm not expecting it to be as good as SoTC (one of the best games of all time) but it looks solid and I like that the grapple hook and glider are used in both combat and exploration. It's taking a lot of inspiration from SoTC while having its own identity as well.

It's a bit dodgy when a game launches without reviews but if my expectations are correct then the €30 price is fair. It's supposed to use the adaptive triggers ( https://www.pushsquare.com/... so I think you're right that they're probably using it for the bow.

SUPER stoked about this. Shadow of the Colossus was one of THE best games on PS2, and this is clearly HIGHLY inspired by it.

Can't wait to jump in.

jznrpg861d ago

Looks like SoTC and that’s a good thing . I’m in .

dbcoops861d ago

This looks really cool and good on them for the free PS5 upgrade.

...so-so graphics but i think the gameplay will be awesome!

Praey for the Gods Review - IGN

Praey for the Gods is a Shadow of the Colossus-inspired adventure with sluggish controls, distracting survival mechanics, and painful bugs that make it hard to recommend.

LucasRuinedChildhood854d ago

This review is very negative but I did find and submitted a very positive review as well:
https://n4g.com/news/245860...

I had a bad feeling when there was no reviews at launch but is the 4-5 range really going to be this game's average score? I'd like to see what some other reviewers (Easy Allies, Eurogamer, Edge, GameSpot) think of it.

jznrpg854d ago

Forza had messed up multiplayer bugs but no mention 9/10 . This has bugs 4/10 . Screw sites these days ! Now I’m not saying this doesn’t deserve a hard review for bugs but this is an indie game and Forza is a 1st party big budget title . It’s stupid the way games are reviewed

Neonridr854d ago

wait are you saying that this game is better than Forza?

4Sh0w854d ago (Edited 854d ago )

@jznrpg
You might as well say this game has colors like FH5 so they both should get a 9.

FH5 plays superb most of the time and the game itself is a well crafted experience that is arguably the best there is within the genre...unfortunately this game according to the reviewer has some big issues, as he clearly stated:

"sluggish controls, distracting survival mechanics, and painful bugs that make it hard to recommend"

-These flaws have nothing to do with FH5, thats on the devs, hopefully the right feedback helps them learn and get better.

tagzskie854d ago (Edited 854d ago )

@neon you miss his point, the way i understand with that post is at least be fair when reviewing games, doesnt matter if its 1st, 2nd, 3rd party, high budget AAAA or indie.

Sometimes a well known ip getting the pass of for example lack of content, bugs etc, while new ip does not.

Neonridr854d ago

@tagzskie - the difference here is that while Forza might have a few bugs, it's still a brilliant game and extremely fun to play. This game has problems, and on top of that isn't that much of a good game.

I wouldn't really compare the two here in this case as it really doesn't apply.

tagzskie854d ago

@neon a bug is still a bug though. What if jznrpg also think this game is brilliant and fun to play just like you think in forza? Theres no such thing as not good comparison. In the first place this game is not a racer for me its awful comparison but hey its his opinion but i still get what he mean.

So what if Forza is 1st party with MS money behind it. Many 1st party games also don’t get reviewed well. You expect simply for being indie a game needs to to be treated more lenient. Its almost insulting cause some of the best games this year are indie titles like Death’s Door, Kena, Inscryption and Loop Hero.

Technically all games have bugs, it’s when you’re constantly running into them, ala Cuberpunk, that it becomes the problem.

tagzskie853d ago

@crimson amen to that and that goes w/out saying. The game became no bugs when you play the game and not encountering it. If its game breaking bugs i can live with that negative reviews.

I think it's easy to copy and paste a genre like Souls-Game. But the SOTC genre is something else entirely. The base game here is an absolute masterpiece considered to be a true work of art even by non-gamers.
Unfortunately for the developers of "Praey for the Gods", this burden is heavier than anything else. I really hope they don't get discouraged and learn from their mistakes. I really appreciate their attempt!

Abnor_Mal854d ago

That is a pretty low score, and reminds me of the other game Extinction with giant ogres. I was also excited for that game as it too was similar to SOTC, but when I finally got a chance to play I was deeply dissatisfied with the clunky controls.

Spenok854d ago

From what I have read of user reviews on Steam, don't listen to this rubbish review.

As for Extinction however, you are absolutely right. That was a poor game.
