Telegraph writes: "This is the year when we all became gamers. Whether it was honing our strength and balance on Wii Fit, fulfilling our rock star fantasies with Rock Band and Guitar Hero, creating new levels for Sack Boy in LittleBigPlanet, training our brain with Dr Kawashima, or gunning our way through Locust hordes in Gears of War, there can be few people left in the country who have not picked up and played a computer game in the last 12 months.

Forget those hackeneyed stereotypes of greasy-haired teenage boys huddled over their games console in their bedroom – the average age of a gamer is actually 30, and women are increasingly embracing the past-time as a hobby. Families, too, are treating computer games as the new board games, be it clustered around their Nintendo Wii, or singing along to songs on their PlayStation 3."
