Ubisoft waiting for Assassin's Creed 2 'anticipation'

In a recent piece by Forbes, Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America, explains that the publisher won't release Assassin's Creed 2 until there is "more anticipation for it." Meaning: Ubisoft is in no rush to push Altair out of a window until it's sure there's a sufficient amount of rabid consumers below to break his fall.

People barely gave a crap about the 1st one. The reason it sold well is because it looked like a great game, but wasn't. They should at least tell us what's been improved before assuming we'll want it.

People just liked Jade Raymond and her valiant attempt/passion and wanted to let her down easy I think.

That's all I have to say.

She's not even that hot either, just cute.

You want a viciously sexy gaming lady, google Lisa Gleave.

Then it won't be coming out at all. Not unless "like you guys mentioned" they update people on what's changed, kept, discarded, added etc, etc. Still looking forward to the sequel the story was pretty interesting, besides what a f#cking cliff hanger if they don't release the 2nd.

But recently tried to play it again, and the desire to play it abandoned
me within 25 minutes.

I really wanted to play it again too,but their was no more life left in it for me,
and that's a shame because The Crusades and The Knights of the Temple (Knights Templar)are some of my favorite characters and moments from history.
Lets hope AC2 improves on the replay value.

They did care in the beginning but it turn out to be a massively overrated game.

TheHater3630d ago

I borrowed it from my friend, and I can't begin to describe how much I hate this game.

beavis4play3630d ago

i rented it to see if i'd like it and took it back after 2 days.
a very forgettable game.

STFUAJPG3630d ago

I got Assassins Creed instead of Cod4 ._.
Biggest mistake ever....

Matix3630d ago

I liked the first game. It was fun, and the gameplay was unique(ish) with the jumping from roof to roof mechanics, but it did NOT deliver as I had hoped. I think Ubisoft should be more concerned with telling people what they would do differently, because they're not going to get the "anticipation" otherwise.

Breakfast3630d ago

Id give it a 7/10...not so good.

But the thing is that i am really looking forward to the sequel. Theres alot of upside in the game, all they really need to do is fix some of the gameplay issues.

So i still have alot of hope for the game, even though i disliked the first one.

kalel3333630d ago

The game was alright, it got too repetitive in my opinion

Matix3630d ago

Only with the flags and collectibles, in my opinion. I liked the assassinations and how they sort of revealed more and more about the story as you went along. But I agree it got very repetitive towards the end of the game.

TheColbertinator3630d ago

I loved Assassins Creed. The graphics, atmosphere, dialogue,s tory, combat system, mission structure, characters, extra activities, and yes I did enjoy the repetition. It felt good knowing what to do next unlike many games which give you tasks like shoot this or stab that and throw some annoying puzzle.

Bring on AC2!

Matix3630d ago

Interesting way of looking at it. Now that I think of it, I have found a certain kind of repulsiveness in games that are not repetitive in some way. Bioshock is a good example. It was not linear enough for me and I felt very lost at certain points.

LebaNoob3630d ago

Especially loved the story/concept myself. That final assassination + ending; I was gaping with awe through the whole thing.

YeOldeGamer3630d ago

If you had trouble playing should really just stop playing games. "...not linear enough"....seriously? That's about as dumb as it gets. 0_o You might like Fable 2, since it uses the "golden bread crumbs" to lead you to the next objective by your NOSE. :o
