A Cat, Scratched Game Disk and NXE

Loot Ninja writes:

"Video games are quite expensive these days so it is of utter importance to try to keep the game disk in immaculate condition. I have been doing a fine job of this, that is until a few days ago. This is a story of how my pesky feline friend almost ruined my Gears of War 2 disk and how the New Xbox Experience was there to save the day.

I was minding my own business, playing Gears of War 2 multiplayer online like any other weekday evening. The game was about to end, it was down to a sudden death standoff between me and some random player. My 2 year old cat Powder decided to jump up on my gaming desk like he has done in the past. He started rubbing his furry face all over my upright standing Xbox 360. I yelled at him but was unable to remove him from the desk, I was in the middle of a standoff after all. He proceeded to rub his stupid face all over the Xbox and inevitably ended up tipping the machine over while the game disk was still spinning. The machine slammed down against the desk but to my amazement the game continued to play on. The match ended with my victory and everything seemed to be fine."

Unfortunate accident but at least it has a nice ending. He could get to play Gears2 again without having to spend any money.

I keep my 360s horizontal knowing full well about the disc scratch issue and my 2 year old cat jumping around as well ;)

Yeah it's great that this ended up without you having to spend more money. That disc looks nasty. Note to self: keep my cats away from my consoles.

Cat + Disc = Bad times

Lesson to be learned. Don't stand your console up with kids, cats, dogs, or stupid people in the house.

Lessons are almost always learned the hard way. Something awful must happen before we change our habits and behaviors.

He should have been less careless.

What would he have rather had? A broken 360 and a broken cd, or one single game lost?

Seems in my opinion, he would rather have had the broken 360. Next time he shouldn't so lazy and stop his cat. This is why there are many problems.

My bud's still got a launch day 360, working fine. Only thing wrong with it is that it has a disk tray jamming every once in a while.
