Heavyweight Game Pirate Gets Light Sentence

The prosecution of a major California video game pirate has resulted in a comparatively light sentence.

The San Jose Mercury-News reports that Khuong Van Truong copped a plea in Santa Clara County Superior Court this week. Truong stood accused of counterfeiting and possessing more the 11,000 video games, 4,000 DVDs and 300 audio CDs. The pirated goods were valued at an estimated $420,000.

A perfect opportunity to make an example of pirates and they blew it he should go to jail for 10 years minimum and be forced to pay back the full amount in cash that he pirated and damages to the relevant companies
