COG writes: With its third installment in the franchise, Director Will Doyle seems to be honing in on striking the right balance and pace between flashy, horrific cutscenes and tight, engaging gameplay.
Also included are Alien: Isolation, Dead Island Definitive Edition, Outlast 2, and more.
Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.
Supermassive has released a new title update for House of Ashes that gives the Curator's Cut for free, along with the Friend's Pass.
Twinfinite: “Among the most memorable games of the year fell into the horror genre. So, here are our picks for the best horror games of 2021.”
Resident evil village for me is the best one this year
Getting lost in that stupid maze like factory with minimal ammo and the half robot drills guys after me was tense.
Castle dimitrescu was awesome as well.
Returnal was awesome aswell but i wouldnt classify that as a horror even if sometimes it was a little creepy
House of Ashes was definitely the stronger horror experience.
Village is pretty much horror-lite; an action game through and through; dialing back a lot of the horror put into 7.
I'd have it at the back of the list.
I got more out of the messed up imagery of Little Nightmares even.
Returnal really shouldn't be on the list for this.
RE Village for me was tops. I will revisit Returnal when some adjustments are made. Love The Dark Pictures Games which feel like movies.
I have yet to play House of Ashes but I don't find the games made by Supermassive Games scary Man of Medan was not scary, Little Hope I liked but I didn't find it scary, even Until Dawn I never thought was scary. I like RE Village more I mean werewolves as an enemy was pretty damn good Tormented Souls also I thought was pretty good.
I did enjoy Re village a lot, but Mundaun is my favourite horror game of 2021 and possible of all time. Horror games are rarely scary, but this one did some surprisingly cool stuff, first night in the cabin, where you notice stuff outside, I found that unsettling. Northern Journey is my second pick, and then I'd go with Resident Evil.
This looks good. Hopefully they optimize the PC version
How are these games?
