Cool. Say what you will, but Lords Of The Fallen 1 was fine for what it was. I played it and enjoyed it as a poor man's Soulsborne game. I did get it on sale with a big discount.

I was enjoying it, until I fell through the floor and lost 3 hours of progress because apparently the checkpoints weren't working. I hope they can improve what they had.

Bugs aside, what they had was a good first attempt. If they can refine movement of the player and make combat a smoother experience, that would already be a huge improvement.

Rambokind1200d ago

Tried to play it, but it's just too clunky and uninspiring to play. Gave up after the first area. Maybe I'll try 2 if it's improved in certain ways?

Darkborn1200d ago

I was the same way and I even re-downloaded it and tried again but it just felt off.

Vits1199d ago (Edited 1199d ago )

This one is not being made by the same devs. They went to make The Surge and The Surge 2. Where they really over LoF and added a new spin to the combat.

BattleCat1200d ago

Wait isnt ci games doing this ps4 anime Game? What never will release :p?

Chevalier1199d ago

I think you're getting confused with Cyber Connect

boing11200d ago

Design of the logo is weird, if not ugly. Why this '2' is like this? Is it a snake? Is it meant to represent something?

savedsynner1199d ago

The first one had a ton of potential but felt like it either needed more time/money to achieve what they were trying to do. Hopefully this time, they'll have it. I also didn't like that you had this giant hulking protagonist and yet still had to make an "rpg" from it. It felt weird playing him as a rogue.

HyperMoused1199d ago

Loved lotf 1 only thing that i disliked was the game breaking bug on my new game plus playthrough, game breaking glitch on beating the last boss again. Will get this day one, loved the art style and gameplay.

Loved the first game. Excited for a sequel. Will be watching this.

The first one's very underrated

CantThinkOfAUsername744d ago

Wouldn't say underrated, but ridiculously overhated.

Luc20745d ago

It has a great atmosphere. Loved funding the secret rooms and all unique weapons. The DLC was also great. I kept playing it until I got the plat trophy

Ramboforlife745d ago

I really tried the first one, but just couldn't get into it. I'll give it another shot if they release the sequel

isarai745d ago

OH DOPE! i actually really enjoyed the first, and using UE5 is a perfect for for this game, if the 1st game is anything to go by, it's gonna be a looker

Fist4achin744d ago

Been meaning to get into the first one. Time is tough and playing through other backlogged games at the moment. I'm not the greatest at souls type games, but I do enjoy the chew.

I was late to the Dark Souls style game, Lords of the Fallen was my entry - Souls-lite as they say, but I really enjoyed it I thought it had good style, & impressive for a lower budget game early in the gen. Yea, it was pretty easy- perfect for me at the time- except for maybe the "twins" towards the end , but I finished it mostly without issue. (actually read online later there are some way easier techniques for the twins, but I figured everything out myself & took a more difficult tactic, haha) The other bosses I had down in just a few attempts, which didn't feel as rewarding. I do hope they ramp up the difficulty!!

-I just hope this one doesn't reek of other games stuck which have been stuck in "development hell". Hope Hexwork steps up the plate and really delivers a surprise hit!

metalgod881325d ago (Edited 1325d ago )

Lords of the Fallen wasn't a bad game, but for me, it just had WAYYY too many bugs. I fell through the floor several times. The first boss got stuck in an animation and I couldn't damage him. The way points didn't work at times and I had weapons just disappear forever. I got stuck in the level geometry a few times and couldn't move, forcing me to start at the previous way point. Maybe I was cursed, idk haha.

If they can get those types of issues fixed and make a more challenging game, I think it would definitely have potential. I want to wish the new team the best of luck!

Father__Merrin1325d ago

Lord of fallen had an amazing heavy feel to it. Excellent lore behind it. When I had run out of time tbh I flew through it with a 1 hit kill trainer

MadLad1325d ago

Happily will take a sequel. The original was underrated, as far as I am concerned.

Donnie811325d ago (Edited 1325d ago )

Part one came out early this gen when gamers were thirsty for any rpg. I enjoyed it thought it had a good art direction and a good enough story. Hopefully the sequel is better

From Eurogamer: "Lords of the Fallen 2 appears to be back on the ropes again.

Doesn't bode well for a sequel to a very generic Souls rip off to be in development hell. Don't get me wrong I finished the first game and it was ok but I wasn't left wanting more.

Blu3_Berry1805d ago

This game has disaster written all over it. I do have much hope for this game honestly. It's going through so many development issues and teams constantly changing. This doesn't bode well with the game at all.
