Destineer and developer BongFish announced today that Stoked, the open-world, backcountry snowboarding video game developed exclusively for the Xbox 360, is scheduled for release on January 20, 2009. Below is the press release with the announcement:
They should probably pick a better name.
I'm stoked to go snowboarding this season, it's been uncomfortably warm here in alberta and I can't wait to hit the slopes.
^ agreed what's wrong with the title? i for one can't wait to go boarding in january, its uncomfotably cold here in the uk, yet no snow... typical..
call me stoked ;)
Never again lol
Whats the point. We all know the game will end up with low scores.
Why? Could be a sleeper hit you never know.
For example, Pure.
bu teh cell
But teh cell is busy working on Killzone 2, GoW3, and some other demanding titles. Be back soon (eventually) :)
yeah, stoked will really require all that processing muscle! /sarcasm
yea another exclusive
Microsoft has cornered the coveted Snowboard sim market!!! Sony is dooooooomed I tells ya!!! Seriously, did MS really needed to make this an exclusive? I guess Microsoft ran out of 3rd party Sony franchises to buy.
would be better. Put that balance board to some use.
Do you actually own a balance board?
What makes you think MS made this exclusive? The developer is not a large studio and maybe they just wanted to make the game for one system. I can't say either way, but to rant about MS making this exclusive is stupid.
@GiantEnemyCrap I think you do not have a grip on the meaning of the word "rant". I was not ranting, I had given a poignant and [yes] facetious opinion. I think you just got butthurt over my comment of your beloved Microsoft. Your 4 bubbles in a great indicator of the value of your comments. How many people have ignored you? Well sign me up... poof be gone.
So why say "also to be 360 exclusive"? Or maybe it was multi-platform but it got canceled cause Sony knows that gamers don't want mediocre games. Whatever the case may be, i'm sure 360 owners will be "Stoked" to have another mediocre exclusive. I mean hey, it gets them excited for something right? I'm sure everyday then get an adrenaline rush from turning on their console just to see if they get the RRoD that day or not.
Well looks like the fishhead jury is out. No need to play the game or see any gameplay it is automatically mediocre. Even thru in a RROD comment.. Nice.. Now go cry somewhere else PS3 loser.
Shawn White's game flopped. So what's gonna make this game any better? Hopefully they'll do some things better...
Anyone else miss SSX?
I miss coolborders and twisted edge.
I had so much fun with that game on my friend's GC. I was hoping Shaun White would be good, turns out I was wrong.
I am dying for a new SSX game. What a shame that EA Sports and Mr. Moore in all their wisdom got rid of EA Big and have stated that they have no plans for an SSX sequel and so we get that Shaun White garbage. These dev's have mentioned SSX being influential to them so I hope they make a game that is as much fun.
Coolboarders was the bomb back in the PS1 days. After thier PS2 games, it died.
And I thought it would be available off of xbl... well it is a budget title, it's priced at 39.99, personally it looks pretty good for the price.
Hardly much to boast about.
BongFish? The developer's name is BongFish?
cause I have a bong with fish on it.
I miss Coolboarders!!
and SSX as well, especially SSX Tricky! Also don't forget about that really really good snowboarding game on the Nintendo 64, somebody help me out....
both were good games.
"360, 540, 720, 900, 1080!!!!!!!" haha i miss that game, i went through 2 pads playing that game and knackering out the analog stick... good times
