In an age of sequels, Gears Of War 2 leads the pack. It's the supremely polished, bustling package the first Gears aspired to be, adding generous amounts of content to keep you blasting Locust for some time. It'll amaze you all over again with a stronger campaign wrapped in an invigorated world, one that now deserves your attention, and the horde mode that overcomes any matchmaking shortcomings. Even little additions such as achievement reminders and dynamic co-op difficulties drive home that this is one hell of an upgrade. One of the finest games this generation, this time it's a little more than "alright".
