A fifteen year old boy in Sweden has had a seizure from playing too much World of Warcraft.
WoW is destroying the youth!
(the guy who plays Wow to long)
Serves him right for playing that long.I don't understand the craze with MMO's,they just seem extremely boring.I used to know this kid who lost his soul to an MMO(Final Fantasy XI).Dude would just sit there in front of his computer in his room with the lights off all day.It was real easy to steal stuff from him because he wouldn't even turn away from the monitor for just even a second.
but come on...this is just pathetic. The WoW community is a culture all of its own and basically is just an alternate reality for those who wish to escape the real world. Gaming is a hobby, maybe an addiction for some, while WoW is pure life for a good number of serious WoW players. It's just freaking sad.
no man you dont give props to kids who play a game for 24 hours straight...you point and laugh.
wow this is new........................... ...............................
.............................. ......................... not!
he should have read the health warning.
yeh i read this story on the times website about a month ago...
My AntiVir picked up a virus on that site. Be careful. Besides, this story is old. I saw it on here 3 or 4 weeks ago.
Hrm, nothing detected by my AVG. What program do you use?
bah firefox + NoScript for the win
sorry wrong reply
Thanks for the warning.
I also picked up a virus visiting that site. I use Avira along with no script and adblock
This has already been posted and approved from a different website, cant find link though. edit: nvm I found it: http://www.n4g.com/industry...
Obsessive personality + WoW = :(
over month old news. i've reported. Sorry
I work with a 16 year old who claims a 68 hour run on WoW, when they had some kind of single player thing or something. No food, just sitting at the computer. 68 hours straight.
He would need to at least go to the bathroom and get some drinks from time to time. I have 2 friends. Both bothers who spents something like 33 hours straight with the new Xpac to get the first lvl 80 achievements on their servers. They did it. here is a link to the guild website if your interested... http://whitewoods.net/ 68 seems silly but the world record for staying awake is 282 hours 55 min held by Bertha Van Der Merwe so anything is possible i guess..
Thats an impressive record. Im not sure i could even comprehend staying for half of that - well at least i dont want to comprehend it lol. As for this guy - IDIOT! - nothing what so ever to be proud of. All the same i hope he was ok.
Get a life kid.
I avoid MMORPGs at all costs.
good for him
why there are so many psychotic teens in the world who go on killing sprees, kill themselves and suffer from social disorders or depression. I am convinced that "everything in moderation" is the phrase of the day.
That, I can agree upon.
Good! That'll teach him not be be playing WoW for that damned long.
i've played wow, my friend bought it for me becuase he wanted someone from his school to play with him. After i made my account, i could swear i felt my soul die so i never touched the game again.
achievement unlocked =)
Why is it up here again?
that was absolutely hilarious. ohhh. my stomach hurts....please stop....bubbles for you.
Don't know if I want to make an article out of this from reading this, but I'm really angry that people would want to degrade their bodies and put their health and well being on the line for anything that they didn't have to do that for. Seriously, this is called COMMON SENSE!! If you can't understand to take the 15 min breaks and that every few hours, then what the HELL are you doing PLAYING THE DAMN GAME?!
is that now his parents took away his computer and he has to get a job well see it all worked out for the better... now the real wow begins ... the even worst part is all he was doing was chopping trees in the forest getting up his lumberjacking skill the whole time and when his freinds asked him what he does in that game he said chop wood ...
How is this still getting hotter even though it's a duplicate which has been reporter numerous times? It's like I'm at Digg!
Dude.. WOW and other popular MMOs are like a Drug Addiction or Gambling addiction. My cousin was destroyed because he started playinf Everquest and then migrated to WoW and his life is so sad now. I hope MMO never makes it over to my 360 or PS3 because It will have the same effect. I play games for a few hours a day for fun and that is it.
Yah, I stay away with my addictive personality I would`nt stand a chance- I do 35+ hours a week now- I just upgraded and been asking what to buy....Not WOW, they say it will make me lose my job and wife...lol
first of all this is old news. this article already pop up since the 2nd day of WOTLK release. secondly no offense to mmo gamers out there just what i feel, most mmo gamers are extremely lifeless. and it makes me wonder if they actually know what is gaming which apparently i dont think they know or understands it. as they basically get dominated by the game to the extend they usually feel lost between your actual life and virtual life (yeah i know "most" mmo gamers would deny this but whatever since you dont see it more clearly then someone outside of the picture) i play mmo too but i know my limit. and honestly they aint all that fun sometimes. it can be refreshing sometimes but gets old after awhile. also mmo gamers tend to lost their mind after awhile. i know someone in real life who dont use to play mmo and he doesnt know such thing existed. ever since he started one. he become crazy over such game. to the extend that he could give up what he used to like. and now in his eyes he only say mmo is good game. so every other game no matter how good they are that you show him he wouldnt play them even if you give him for free. he would rather go search for free mmo to play. to me i find him an extreme loser. as he seems to lost track of reality and likes to live in virtual reality. even when i try to pursue him and make him realize what he is doing he doesnt learn what problem he have. so i eventually gave up hope on him. since he can get upset if i insulted an mmo in anyway. the best part is that i ever played mmo together with him. and he is the kind who cannot socialize with ppl yet he wanna play mmo. an example he needs help for quest, i go help him, while helping him some unknown player happen to pop by and wanna do the same thing asking for party. when i party up that guy my friend can brush off that player and ask him to go away saying that if he can solo it why come party us. really a loser in my eye after that particular incident. there is nothing wrong with mmo games out there. its all about whoever that is playing them. you choose your path. at the end of the day anything that happen to you just because of the game you play, you deserve no sympathy imo.
