Ubisoft's First-Half Sales Up 32% as Net Income Dips

Following Ubisoft's second-quarter fiscal report, which saw sales rise 37 percent, today the French publisher announced its full first-half financial results, revealing a net sales increase of 32 percent to €344.5 million. Although net income was down year-over-year from €30.6 million to €24 million, gross profit jumped 58.5 percent to €201.6 million and operating income climbed to €24.7 million.

Ubisoft said the results were "driven by the strong increase posted by both casual games, which represented 35.4 percent of total sales compared with 14.5 percent in the same period of 2007-08 and the distribution business, 12.4 percent of total sales versus 4.8 percent."
