game-killing glitch in the Wii version of Tomb Raider Underworld. Now, it seems that Eidos themselves officially know about it, and have responded to the issue at hand:
"We are aware of a bug which is present in the Nintendo Wii
version of Tomb Raider: Underworld. We would like to stress that this is an extremely infrequent bug, however on the rare occasion that it occurs; it affects the presence of a lever in the Thailand level of the game and prevents progress beyond this level. Eidos sincerely apologies to anyone who has experienced this frustrating problem.
The quality of our games is paramount to us and the Nintendo Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld went through three separate QA testing departments prior to release. Regrettably anomalies such as this do occur occasionally in videogames despite the best efforts by publishers to avoid them. The good news is that it is not an unsolvable bug, so if you encounter it and it persists please visit www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/support/worldmap.html ." -- Eidos, via Kotaku
Kotaku suspects that calling one of the numbers listed will result in them telling you to revert to an earlier save, or offering one of their own that can be transferred to an SD card-- basically, the same solution as before. Of course, that all assumes that the person with trouble has a) an earlier save, or b) an SD card/compatible computer.
Hopefully they'll issue a recall soon.
Despite its relatively modest reputation in the greater gaming landscape, Tomb Raider Underworld was a huge game for AI development.
Gamerheadquarters; "With there being over seven hundred games, here are the best deals and in general the best games you should be checking out on Xbox 360."
The Tomb Raider Collection is on sale for $50.50 as part of the Humble Store’s Tomb Raider Week. The collection normally retails for over $200.
The Tomb Raider Collection includes every Tomb Raider game ever released for PC prior to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, including the award-winning Rise of the Tomb Raider and the top-down shooter Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.
Apology accepted...
