GameArgus writes: "World at War is chaos right from the start. It wastes no time in depicting war in a tragic way. Its cinematics are littered with actual war footage, some of it quite graphic. That said, it's not used for exploitation, but to set a mood (and hopefully this doesn't become a new trend). This is easily the most violent of the series, with blood trails, severed limbs, and exploding bodies being the norm. Burning someone with the new flamethrower brings loud screeching screams that are truly unnerving".
