Nintendo's noble aim for Wii Music is to enable anyone to be a musician and encourage every user to gain a new appreciation for music. Trouble is, you are usually creating such a frightful din that the game is more likely to have the opposite effect.
The music itself is the biggest blunder. Who wants to play the likes of Twinkle, Twinkle, Happy Birthday or Yankee Doodle? And when Wii Music is not tormenting your ears with nursery rhymes, folk songs or horrendous arrangements of classical music, the small selection of pop tunes are not much better, featuring tracks like Material Girl, Daydream Believer and The Loco-Motion.
