IGN: Independent's Day Vol 10 – Mole Revolution

In the post-shareware era, Japan has been ahead of the curve in promoting small-scale independent commercial developers, thanks to their thriving doujinshi scene. Sites and conventions dedicated to indies showcase and distribute lots of small-scale productions for about $5-$20 a pop, a far cry from the premium $80-$100 price tag most retail computer games fetch over there. It's been a great scene that has opened many doors and, in recent years, even made a few stars.
