Preparing your Xbox 360 for the NXE

Only 7 more days until the New Xbox Experience!

There's not much that needs to be done to prepare for the NXE if anything really at all, except one thing. If you're planing to use the save to hard drive option (the save to hard drive option not only makes most games load quicker but it also quiets your console down since the DVD drive is not spinning at the high rate it spins), then there is one thing you might want to do before Nov. 19th.

I'm gonna call it right now. Bricked consoles.

JimmyJames703323d ago

Curses on you for even suggesting such a horrible, horrible thing.

Bodhi3323d ago

I willing to bet that 360s will brick but not as many as the firmware PS3 bricking. The NXE is only 1 update, it's been tested so many times, I doubt it will brick a lot of consoles. Maybe a few here and there but nothing catastrophic.

chaosatom3323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

to prevent RROD.

edit: Bodhi. i disagree. Firmware updates did not brick that many ps3.
You can't say how many will get bricked because nobody has any idea.

Blademask3323d ago

Just saying. You dont have to ship back a ps3 when the firmware didn't work.

jaysquared3323d ago

Wow.. I thought it was in the gamerzone..

plain rice3323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

Yeah what Blademask said. People need to know the difference between a "brick" and just a bad installation that suffered on a rare amount of PS3's. It was only temporary though. It's not like you have to send your console to Sony for repairs.

GUNS N SWORDS3323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

ready to lose that bet (vitz3)'s only 7 more days :)

BTW, do ps3 gamers have to make assess of them selves even in the gamer zone in the 360 section.....(i fvcking swear no shame :)

himdeel3322d ago

...but if people copy the 360 games after downloading the original onto their harddrive couldn't they then sell the original copy? I just wonder how this will affect pirating games any.

I'm looking forward to less noise and less loading time. Avatars?...Not so much.

Spike473323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

may brick some consoles, but probably HOME will present some problems aswell.

BOTTOM LINE: There will be issues, and lucky for us gamers Sony nor MS will ignore those issues.

They are pretty big updates especially HOME so expect some issues.

LOL, watch I bet some random fanboys will report fake problems on HOME like all the other firmwares.

Blademask3323d ago

and the ps3 doesn't have any games that cause 100% hardware failure. The 360 has games you play while it RROD's but i doubt the game is to blame.

PotNoodle3323d ago

Home is a completely optional download and even when downloaded and installed, it'll run like every other application on the system.

jack who3323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

get a 60gb or 120 gb

20 wont help you

digger183323d ago

Even with a 60gb, doesn't that mean I can only install 6 games then its full?

PoSTedUP3323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

preparing? as in getting some towels and contacting MS support center?

Sir_Ken_Kutaragi3323d ago (Edited 3323d ago )

that's a really good relief. In the other hand, RROD problems are enough for xbox360 owners, hopefully they won't be faced with even more issues.
