US/EU version of Sonic Unleashed not inferior, says Sega

PSB writes:

"Sega announced that the PS3 and 360 versions would be delayed in Japan until 2009, citing quality issues, while the game would still be hitting shelves in 2008 in western territories.

English speaking Sonic fans, already dismayed at the hedgehog's decline into mediocrity over the past 10 years, were understandably concerned with the notion of getting a rushed build of the game. However, Sega of America has addressed the issue, saying the Japanese delay was solely "based on the sales strategy and the manufacturing schedule", and that "there will be no quality difference"." (PS2, PS3, Sonic Unleashed, Wii, Xbox 360)
