She Geek

Screen Play: "I've been thinking deep thoughts lately, about who I am and what my life is. Quite frankly, I'm a bit boring. I live at home with my Mum (even though I'm well into my twenties). I don't go out much, I don't have many friends. But I don't have a problem with this, as apart from the prevailing economic climate making it a good idea at the moment, I'm a naturally solitary person, and I much prefer to spend my time with books and movies and games.

Oh yes, I'm also a geek - a massive sci-fi fan (50's and 60's Golden Age preferred), a fairly ardent PC gamer (though not truly hard-core) and I even make, paint and play with toy soldiers (both the table-top variety and the more recent digital incarnations - it's the chains...). Even this is not what I find disquieting - more and more, gamers and geeks are ruling the world, and they and their pastimes are gradually gaining acceptance as both serious and adult. So what's my deep dark secret?
