PALGN writes :"As heard a week and a half ago on Episode 50 of the PALGN Podcast, PALGN recently spoke to Eric Kaltman, game researcher and cataloguer for the Stephen Cabrinety collection at the Stanford University Library. Fortunately for us, Eric highlights some of his weird and wonderful discoveries on the How They Got Game blog.
In case you couldn't listen to Episode 50 of the PALGN Podcast, here is a full transcript of the interview.
PALGN: Joining us this week is Eric Kaltman, game researcher and cataloguer for the Stephen Cabrinety collection at the Stanford Library. Eric, you've got a job which I think many would find more than a little interesting; for the benefit of our listeners, do you want to give us a quick overview of who you are and what you do?
Eric Kaltman: Okay yeah. My name is Eric Kaltman, I work as a - as you've just said - as a cataloguer at the Stanford Library where we house a very, very large collection of, I would say, antique computer games, but that might be a little too [laughs] old. I open boxes that we get from donations and basically catalogue old PC and videogames and enter them into a database so we can use them for research later, hopefully."
