PSi: Spongebob Squarepants Featuring Nicktoons Globs of Doom PS2 Review

PSi writes: "As a thirty something parent, it can be a little grueling playing through games specifically meant for a far younger audience. As a member of the game industry, we all know you have to keep an objective eye and accept things at face value. I will have to say that from the very beginning, SpongeBob Squarepants Featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom has some surprisingly well done aspects, given the audience. That is not an admittance of how I thought the game would actually be before I played it. But let's face it, it's a kids' game geared for kids, and I have played a few in my time. The fact that it breaks my preconceived notions from the start is a high compliment. The real test came when the kids actually got a hold of the game."

VGGEN: SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom Review

VGGEN writes: "Since the past few SpongeBob branded games I have experienced have been decent little platformers, I expected much more from the most recent title, SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom. However, what I got was much worse. Rather than an enjoyable, fast-paced adventure, I was subjected to, quite possibly, one of the worst Nickelodeon tie-in games I've ever seen."

WorthPlaying: SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom Review

WorthPlaying writes: "SpongeBob SquarePants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom for the NDS is proof that a simple name can sell a game. This game doesn't even star SpongeBob SquarePants. You'll spend perhaps 10 percent of game time as SpongeBob, but the rest of the title features a mishmash of characters from Nickelodeon shows. Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, Jimmy Neutron, SpongeBob, Tak and other characters are brought together in Globs of Doom to save the day. The result is a mediocre platformer that feels like it's on the wrong game system and is trying to cash in on two things: the popularity of SpongeBob and the large customer base of DS users."

RealGamer: SpongeBob Squarepants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom Review

RealGamer writes: "Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, or perhaps a pineapple under the sea … you'll know who Spongebob is. Whether you're 5 or 50, we all know who that little yellow square thing is and like marmite, you either love him, or hate him. I think SpongeBob Squarepants featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom for Nintendo DS is the same. If you like Nickelodeon characters, traditional platform games and are under the age of 11, you'll probably enjoy this game, with everyone else it will be a little hit and miss"
