Mars Alive Review – PlayStation VR

Mark Smith: "Did you enjoy the movie, The Martian? Do you fantasize about being Matt Damon? Have you ever wanted to poop on your own potato garden? The new PSVR game, Mars Alive would like to exploit all those fantasies but in reality you’re more likely to find yourself stuck in a rut of O2 and battery life management while snacking on energy bars trying to stay alive on the hostile Red Planet. Don’t get me wrong; there is a solid survival game lurking beneath the misguided design of Mars Alive provided you have the patience to endure the more grueling aspects of gameplay."

Mars Alive Review | Darkstation

The game’s trailers suggest a much more action-packed, epic and graphically complex product but the reality is entirely different. The biggest survival challenge in Mars Alive is its hours of repetitious and slow gameplay.

So I guess Winking haven't learned their lesson, huh?

Looks like someone who's a fan of the game didn't like your comment because you spoke the truth lol

But yeah, I was looking forward for this unti I saw some gameplay. What disappoints me where the graphics, which aren't as great as they were advertised. Although I read somewhere that the story is decent, so maybe I'll check it out once a sale hits.

I mean, as I said in one of my previous posts, the game is very average at best. The story has some interesting bits in it, and there's plenty to craft and upgrade. However, the slow movement is what holds it back and I can't help but find it as a poor design on seeing dozens of resources available on every directions, removing the sense of survival. Plus, there are a few bugs and calibration issues here and there. Not a fan of The Walker, which is what I was referring on my recent post, but at least that game got to the point. With Mars Alive, it really requires patience.
