"And it will be the same content?"

"Moldenhauer: There’s going to be localization, there’s going to be extra animation flourishes throughout. The cutscenes that used to just be a still image between islands now have some animation. And there might be a few little extras for people to find out…"

Take my money, I love a non-lazy developer! They even seem open to putting Nintendo themed content in the game...maybe DLC....they just seem really cool.

Most indies like MDHR that show obvious passion and creativity don't take the success they've achieved for granted. This game was like their baby for so many years and is something that probably wasn't possible a decade ago. It's a miracle that a company like MS even helped them when you think about it. With all that said I hope they move onto a new game in the next few years because they're so talented that I'd hate to see only one major project from them.

eagle211861d ago

I agree. They will have much more money to work on more games in the future. Reading all the comments on various sites from Nintendo as well as Xbox fans, this game is going to sell a lot on Switch.

TK-661861d ago (Edited 1861d ago )

Oh its definitely going to sell well. Its exactly the sort of game that appeals to your typical Nintendo fan and indies like Blossom Tales which nearly failed managed to thrive on the Switch. I'd estimate 2 mil but I wouldn't be surprised if lifetime it managed to hit 3+ mil on the system alone.

eagle211861d ago (Edited 1861d ago )

I think around 2 million will only be the first week on Switch....haha. The game is only $20. I see 5 million plus on Switch alone. Will be fun to see what happens. Remember, you must consider Japan sales as well now in your estimates. :)

Hell of a move by Nintendo and Microsoft if they put Xbox live on the switch, it would be even more amazing if we could see Nintendo games on Xbox consoles and Xbox games on Nintendo consoles.

Always said it's about time these console devs moved past exclusives and made all games for whatever platform they chose to buy.

With the potential of three new console devs potentially joining this billion dollar industry, it might be safe to say existing console devs would be wise to band together because it looks as though a war is brewing..

thepetedog1861d ago (Edited 1861d ago )

Why’s that?

RememberThe3571861d ago

I'm a Sony fan and I'd love to see that.

Melankolis1861d ago

How so? It simplifies things. For me, the 1st console to buy is always Playstation, and the 2nd is Nintendo's portable, but now i have extra feature to access Xbox game library. Not that it's important but having an extra is always welcomed.

rainslacker1860d ago

A war is brewing? Umm....the console war has been a thing since the 2600/colecovision days. We practice this war every day on this site. We even call it a war.

mark_parch1860d ago

i would love nothing more than to be able to play every game on one device.

The_Sage1861d ago

This does make me think that the Microsoft talk of them becoming the Netflix of game isn't just talk.

deno1861d ago (Edited 1861d ago )

They were talking about gamepass. Gamepass is essentially video game version of Netflix.

The_Sage1861d ago (Edited 1861d ago )

I don't think so, brother... Read this.

https://www.businessinsider...

Here's a quote from the full article, which you should read.

"It's part of a bigger push within Microsoft's Xbox group, led by Microsoft VP of gaming Phil Spencer, to make Xbox into a platform rather than a piece of hardware."

RememberThe3571861d ago

Does that contradict his comment? Netflix is a software based and so is Xbox, just different mediums. I get that it's not streaming but the concept that you can access all the media on the service with just a monthly fee is very similar.

The_Sage1860d ago

Yes it does, Remember. They are talking about making Xbox a platform instead of a console. That's more thanjust game pass. It's the same idea Google has.

spicelicka1860d ago

This is cool! Now...bring Zelda to Xbox...

mark_parch1860d ago

i would love that but i think it's extremely unlikely lol

spicelicka1860d ago

Yea it's not happening lol

Thundercat771860d ago

Totally unlikely. Nintendo is not on a loosing position like Microsoft is.

spicelicka1860d ago

They're not in the winning position either, but it has nothing to do with that.

XiNatsuDragnel1860d ago

I love that fact Xbox is becoming 3rd party, and game on the switch equals day 1

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

PassNextquestion47m ago(Edited 45m ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

Profchaos46m ago(Edited 45m ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto25m ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos1m ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.
