Before online console gaming was even a thing, there was Halo.
The Halo series had an oversized effect on online console multiplayer. So much so that Bungie even had to pitch the Xbox Live team on the very concept of online parties for Halo 2's multiplayer before it became an industry standard.
While we take things like online parties for granted in 2019, this was uncharted territory for console gaming. Though it's cool to see physical prototypes for consoles and devices, software and systems are also prototyped; and it's neat to see something as crucial as online multiplayer in its early stages.
Remember the days of four-player couch co-op? The Wealth of Geeks team certainly does. This list brings us back to the golden years of the original Xbox with the best four-player games that were available.
BLG writes, "There are many fantastic and iconic weapons in game history, but some are significantly more memorable than others. When we think of iconic game weapons, these are the top 20 that come to mind."
You forgot one and it's a doozy. The weapon is kindness in undertale. :) defeats countless enemies.
Not every Halo game has been a banger, but the franchise still has a raft of the greatest games of all time.
Infinite is a dumpster fire and as much as I like ODST, in no universe it ranks above Halo 2. This list is trash.
Best to worst: Halo 3, Halo 2, Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 4, Halo ODST, Halo Infinite, Halo 5.
Those were glory days for Xbox - they were so far ahead on the online front compared to PS2. Big ugly box and a big ugly controller, but I loved 'em.
This game was so crucial to online gaming on console. A revolution in multiplayer.
To me matchmaking was what blew me away. I was used to joining lobby’s and waiting, or simply join a game already in progress.
Halo 2s multiplayer was really revolutionary for its time and a lot of fun (split screen online was also very, very appreciated-even today).
