Record revenue, a poor outlook, mass layoffs, a divided increase, a stock jump. Activision-Blizzard's last 24 hours have been a wild ride, and a travesty for its workers.
"Imagined"? I don't think so. ActiBlizz is laying off many workers as it rakes in profits hand over fist, in pursuit of even higher profit margins. That's utter disregard for their own employees and people in general. I'm not naive. I know corporations exist solely to make money. That doesn't let them off the hook when it comes to evaluating their worth to the society that provides them the infrastructure and protection to succeed, and which should always impose just rules on them as a condition of their existence.
