VGChartz's Rex Hendrichs: "Gaming genres ebb and flow. Many flourish in one era only to wither on the vine the next. While the fast paced twitch shooter has enjoyed pretty steady mainstream success in various forms over the years, its slower, more methodical brother has been relegated to a shrinking niche since its heyday. One developer keeping the tactical shooter alive is New World Interactive with its Insurgency series. What started as a Source engine mod eventually resulted in a standalone title with a long and fluid life cycle. After spending some time with its other mod that grew out of that title, NWI is back to update its mainline series with a new engine and a slew of modern enhancements. It may not have the budget of its competitors, but Insurgency: Sandstorm is more than capable of delivering the thrills in its own way."
Neil writes: "There are a number of new content packs available for Insurgency: Sandstorm across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation and PC"
From Xbox Wire: "The spice must flow… and so should the games. We have some bangers for you on day one (don’t forget you can play Pentiment and Somerville today!), co-op games, strategy games, RPGs, and more. Compare priority lists of games with your friends, and get your pre-installs set for what’s coming soon. Let’s get to the games!"
Darktide?!??!? Holy cow. I was contemplating buying this on steam but if this is day 1....i guess it's time to spend some reward points.
Neil writes: "We adored Insurgency: Sandstorm when it swept onto Xbox and PlayStation consoles at the back end of 2021. In fact, there were elements about it that were nothing but phenomenal. Today though it's all about the chance to expand that game, as a number of new DLC packs arrive, letting players build out their Insurgency experience how they see fit."
