Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aimé doesn’t seem worried, though as he thinks both titles will do well.
Let's Go and Smash have already out pre-ordered Mario Odyssey and BOTW. That's amazing.
Individually or combined?
Wait you pre-orded games that that are out already?
Yeah and you can get PS4 Spiderman bundle for the same price or less this Christmas. Nintendo needs to stop "betting" and drop the price as even the bare bones Xbox will outsell switch this holiday.
You know that's not gonna happen. The Switch is going to sell a million units in Japan just in December alone. How many xboxes are going to sell in Japan in December, maybe 3 or 4 thousand.
Nobody cares about Japan except you.
So? Spiderman is nothing to me. It bored me and for the holidays, that's all Sony has. Smash is gonna be THEE must get game and Let's Go will be another must have. And, um Japan matters, like it or not.
Whatever you all think...I'll remind you in the new year who won the holiday season. PlayStation is so much in control right now they even shrugged off E3 for crying out loud. Anyone who actually played Spiderman does not talk that way. If Spiderman was a switch exclusive...it would be the greatest game ever ...that's what you would preach. Spiderman bores you? My God Nintendo has the most boring lineup ever. We're not 5 years old anymore.
Still don’t think they’ll reach their target goal of 20 million within the fiscal year
meh, still doesn't mean it was a failure. 2018 wasn't as great as 2017, most definitely. But Pokemon and Smash will help usher in 2019 where there are a slew of great tiles coming.
2019 looks like it'll definitely topple 2017 if the games manage to release in 2019. Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem, Bayinetta, Town, Yoshi, Daemon X Machina and (maybe) Metroid. Huge amount of variety there so can't wait and that's not including the stronger 3rd party support they're on track to get.
their board members won't be too pleased
Compared to WII, snes, nes...Switch already flopped. Nintendo knows.
You are correct, they are not going to hit 20M, but i'm sure ninty will have amazing numbers, over 17M perhaps?
Why does it matter to you..
Who knows, they might.
@ Neo Didn’t say that it was a failure, only that it won’t reach its goal
yep, my comment wasn't meant to contradict you or anything, but given what they released this year, if they can get anywhere close 20, that would be a success. The holiday season is going to be very good to Nintendo I think.
Still selling many more than other consoles. X
Prepare for madness in Japanese with both titles, as well as the U.S.
Well... it’s a safe bet.
10 million of each game sold by Christmas
That would be insane they already have 3 games over 10 million, if both of those did the same by Xmas they would have 5 in total for the switch above 10 million, while ps4 only have 1 first party game above 10 million which is uncharted Having five 10 million sellers before its second year would be unheard of
I'm 50-50 on whether Pokemon and Smash will hit 10 million by the Switch's 2nd birthday.
Yeah and wouldn’t overly surprise me smash Bros always sells a lot and well Pokemon always sell 10-15 million plus this ones new? Ok Remake but fresh and exciting and should do well. Nintendo’s attach rate is second to none ;)
Pokemon is not selling 10 million. Smash Ultimate is going to become the best selling Switch game it going go past 12m.
Pokemon will sell 10 million over their stand 2 versions easily if not it’ll be worst selling Pokemon ever
Not that hard to accomplish when your library is small. People have to buy Something.
Why don’t they buy Xbox games then forza halo sunset overdrive quantum break all barely 5 million at a push and with over another 10-15 million consoles sold therefore users minimum and they can’t sell there games small library of exclusives no one buys anyway they buy the cods and the FIFA’s etc Nintendo games sell well because Nintendo games are made well hence they’ll sit higher on metacritic than anything Xbox will come up with in the next 2/3 years or has done in the last 5 years of this generation.
well, duuuuuuh haha
not sure how many switch's they will sell, but for those who already own a Switch it's pretty much guaranteed. not the Pokemon game I wanted or expected but the thought of playing Pokemon on my switch makes me wanna buy it
It is incredibly, overly, sickeningly cute, and very easy so far, but a fun and relaxing nostalgia trip. Very good production values. I would recommend turning the text speed up, and turning battle animations off to speed up the experience.
Smash actually finally pushed me to purchase a switch. So there’s that. Smash is not out yet so my switch is sitting there collecting dust at the moment. Lol.
Just checked a couple of U.K retailers including amazon official Nintendo store and shopto.net all 3 have sold out of Eevee edition with pokebal plus. Guess it’s selling reasonably well ;) Gone for Pikachu myself yellow remake and all that.
Get Hollow Knight in the meantime if you haven't played BotW or Mario. Hollow Knight is very, very good.
I’m planning on getting it eventually, it’s collecting dust due to red dead redemption actually. I know it’s got some good games now. haha.
I've already pre purchased both digitally so I understand why.
Nintendo are clever, because they been quite in the market this year with releasing ok titles and ports to create enough demand and hype and making people thirsty for exclusives. Both well sell so well considering the popularity of both games and thirsty fans.
And yet I'm most excited for portable Civ VI lol. Playing Pokemon now, and while it is super easy, the production values are very good. Better than what I was expecting from Game Freak. Found myself surprised with everything from animations, to menu screens and music. All very high quality stuff. Nostalgia levels through the roof as well.
I don't own a Switch & will I vouch with those 2 games releasing this holiday along with the Switch they will sell pretty well.
More of the some.
Considering how popular the Switch is how popular Pokemon is and how popular Smash Bros is and how close Xmas is there is no doubt Nintendo will do well.
