From Cinelinx: Sometimes the biggest scares in gaming come when you least expect them, and today we're taking a look at some of the scariest moments in non-horror games.
I had to play that damn Banshee mission a few times (kept dying) and the screams never got less creepy.
Uncharted 1(Sub) and 2(Ice cave) have those moments.
Oh man! Nearly forgot about the first Uncharted. Scared the shit out of me.
Bioshock Infinite: when you went to pull a lever or something in an empty room, and right when you turned around, there was a screaming enemy right there. That's one of the only times I've ever screamed playing a video game. The other time was during my first blind playthrough of PT with the ghost killing you....
Queen Vanessa's Manor in A Hat in Time. It's like someone stuck a level from Amnesia into a kids game. It's ridiculous.
Interesting topic, that pic sure looks like a horror game
That's what made it so freaking scary...it wasn't!
Halo. First encounter with the flood
Batman Arkham Asylum the scarecrow segments, whilst they weren't exactly scary to me I was left very uncomfortable with these inescapable feeling of dread the fantastic OST during those segments and scarecrows VA really helped set the mood too.
