In Dragon Quest XI your character is the luminary, a reincarnated hero destined to protect the life-giving tree, Yggdrasil, from the upcoming evil threat. The game begins with your character being born with a mysterious symbol on his hand that confirms his identity and marks him as a target to the forces of evil. When his hometown is destroyed by hordes of monsters, he escapes Moses-style by being placed in a floating bassinet and sent downriver. He is raised by some kind villagers and they inform him of his destiny after completing the coming of age ritual of climbing Tor’s summit.
Following the announcement of Dragon Quest XII, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, and more earlier today, Square Enix sent in an official press release providing sales update about Dragon Quest XI and confirming plans for the west.

COG writes: Square Enix has made a definitive edition of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S and although it's not technically perfect, but still tons of fun to be had here with all the new content.
Just preloaded it on Ekbok, this will hopefully keep me entertained until Cyberpunk 2077.

Prepare to have no life for a while after you start playing this.
this is the main contender for goty this year. but monster hunter is a close second. spiderman would be third because it‘s fun to play but the same old open world we played for a decade now. dq11 is jrpg–brilliance redefined.
