Computer Games: LEGO Batman: The Videogame Review

Computer Games writes: "In "The Sacred and the Profane", Mircea Eliade constructed a unique theory upon modern society. He admitted that, although the laic element had long ago substituted sacred rituals, the transcendent is still to be found at the very roots of existence. And that it sometimes springs at the surface of life in the most unusual ways, stunning the human mind in the moments of its manifestation.

Furthermore, Eliade was convinced that the human being really needed the presence of the Sacred, because it had a regulatory function. The Sacred could restore equilibrium into Chaos and reshape the sense of existence. While, in ancient times, the sacred could be found in myths and legends, passed on through storytelling, we can also find the same archetypal stories in our present everyday lives. The only difference is that nowadays, their form is abstract and much simplified." (LEGO Batman, Lego Batman: The Video Game, PC) 80/100
