A fun driving game that embraces British landscape and weather.
"This is a Britain that’s been scrubbed clean of its inhabitants, unless they happen to own a nice little cottage in the Cotswolds. I don’t mean to suggest that a racing game ought to be in the business of social commentary, but some semblance of reality, some wink to the time and place being portrayed, might have been nice. As it is, the Britain of Forza Horizon 4 feels like a carefully sanitized theme park." Really Polygon?
When you gotta nitpick to "be different" anything is permitted.
"Everything has the faint whiff of an idealized 1950s about it, a place of ordered pub gardens and rosebushes. There’s no graffiti, no council estates, no industry, no suburbs, no litter-strewn Friday night High Streets." This reminds me of the crap articles talking about Spider-man and the NYPD. What is wrong with these people?
Polygon are morons. This is a racing game by Playground Games, not ‘Lands End to John O’Groats with Michael Palin’ I mean, why not go the whole way with the realism and have wayward kids slash your tyres before a race, and make the next mission to get towed by the AA to the nearest kwik-fit? Sort yourselves out!
Just like with the Spiderman police thing, complaining that this game doesn't have ghettos makes me want to buy it even more.
I live in the Cotswolds myself but I kind of agree, a few more urban and rundown areas would’ve been cool, particularly for photo mode!
