Friend lists and invites coming to PC CoD World at War

Videogamer writes: "Treyarch has announced that in the upcoming Call of Duty World at War on PC players will have access to friends lists and an invite system, similar to that usually seen in console titles.

In order to implement this function Treyarch says it's having to change the way the game authenticates the user. In CoD World at War the player will be authenticated in-game against a global master server which keeps track of and maintains unique profile names which are tied to a user's CD key.

A username and password will not be required to play, but each user will have a globally unique profile name." (Call of Duty: World at War, PC)
